    Low fat/low carb

Are you taking any form of digestive enzymes? Life will continue to be very difficult without them if you can't make enough to meet daily demands. Life is hard enough as it is. I also take them (Creon) because of EPI You're in a real tough spot, chronic diarrhea is debilitating.

    Low fat/low carb

Has your GP or Endocrinologist discussed this issue with you? Do you have a diagnosis? Maybe you might need digestive enzymes such as creon to assist with the digesting of foods. I know you are looking for answers, but being there isn't much info in your post, I have to ask these questions.

Do you ALWAYS carry your diabetes gear? (insulin and glucose meter)

A bit late to the party, but YES, that way I am always prepared.

    New to this!

Being very lean means there is room for a wrong diagnosis. Get yourself a blood glucose testing monitor, check your levels before a meal and a few hrs after. I'd be finding out what those readings were you mentioned. And I'd recommend you always get a copy of your results. You may of course...

Ditch the wheetabix... it's doing you no favours. If you've been told it's okay to eat it, ditch that advice too.

    High Hb1ac but normal fasting

My take on it is that if she is deficient, then she will need insulin at some point. You can get away with not taking it for a while, but in the end being deficient equals a need for insulin. It may not be much, but it will be needed. Another c-peptide level to confirm would be a good idea...

    High Hb1ac but normal fasting

So, she would be T3c then and not T1.... very different. I agree with @EllieM - a cgm would be most helpful to see what is going blood glucose wise. Sorry if I missed it, but when was she diagnosed?

    Diabetic Socks

I have them, they are the only socks I wear because I find them to be the most comfortable. Normal socks I find make my feet sweat. And no, I'm not stupid either. I got mine in the US, at one of the stores. I haven't actually looked for them online. And they are plain white, which might put the...

    Morning/Evening testing times?

32 mmol.... so what was your starting point? You seem to be blaming the exponential rise completely on insulin resistance (IR) and none of the blame on what you actually ate. This is a classic example of why so many people test pre and post meals. It helps to show what foods are causing a...

    Morning/Evening testing times?

Testing pre and post meals is very important info. This helps show what is happening based on what you are eating. If you are insulin resistant, I can't understand why you wouldn't perform these tests. Being the goal is to reduce insulin resistance, without that data you have no idea if you are...

    Soda/fizzy drinks and breast cancer?

All I can say is that cancer loves sugar.... I'd also say that any study using a food questionnaire is going to be lacking in creditable information. However, there are other metrics involved and I'd have to agree with the conclusion. Cancer and high sugar consumption is just a really bad combo.
