    Type 1 Swollen feet

Hi @LucyLou55 and welcome to the forums. I hope you are enjoying your holiday despite the foot issue. Can you tell us what you did to make your feet swollen and bruised? How are your blood sugars? Forum rules don't allow us to give medical advice but we can describe our own experiences. Are...

    Can you define profanity?

Probably betraying my age here, but if it's not allowed on Children's Hour (the very old BBC radio program not the film of the same name) it's not allowed on the forum. An exact definition of profanity would be lovely, it could just be added to the forum filter and no one would ever have to...

    Urgent BMs

I have this issue occasionally and I believe (possibly incorrectly) that in my case it is prompted by overdoing acidic drinks such as wine, and especially sparkling wine. Herbal tea seems to help?

    Lorry drivers

Hi @mantha81 and welcome to the DCUK forums. I'm sorry about your husband's health condition(s). I'm going to tag @searley who is a HGV driver (although T1 not T2) . As for the diabetes, is there any T2 in your husband's family and has he had an hba1c test recently? How does the week's...

    Diabetes discussion

Hi @Blester and welcome to the DCUK forums. Those levels are a little confusing? 101 to 117 suggests you are using US figures mg/dL to measure blood sugar (about 5.5 to 6.5mmol/L) but I'm not sure what you mean by 1:40 ? If it's 140 mg/dL then that is about 7.8mmol/L which is still a normalish...

    Mounjaro side effects

Are you able to speak to a doctor or maybe a dietician who might be able to suggest something easier for your gut to tolerate? It's great that your current treatment has normalised your bgs, and the weight loss is presumably desired, but in the long or even medium term the diarrhoea isn't...

Medtronic 780G (really call MiniMed 780G). Adventures and misadventures of a newbie insulin pump user.

I haven't been commenting because I'm not a medtronic user but I do find the posts interesting and with the increasing number of T1s moving to pumps I suspect others will too. And you are fine using a translator for your posts @Jhon Doe

Does anyone understand the nitty-gritty of looping?

My pump shows insulin on board at any time, which is based on insulin injected on top of the background insulin, which then decays away over 5 hours. (This isn't necessarily accurate, because if it's been giving me extra basal then it'll include that as IOB even though it isn't really an...

    Libre 2plus sensor problems

Hi @Alun Roberts and welcome to the DCUK forums. As a moderately frequent traveller (with a dexcom) I feel your pain. Despite carrying lots of extra sensors I have still run out on occasion and it's much harder to get spares while overseas. Last time I had issues it was actually because my...

Does anyone understand the nitty-gritty of looping?

Yes, tandem is relatively manual, the closed loop aspect is reactive, and although it'll give you more or less insulin if your bg is high or low, it wont change your basal rates for the next day.

Dexcom one + wire broke off

I paid privately for my dexcoms until New Zealand Pharmac finally started funding them for T1s last year. Yes, you do get occasional failures but they always replace them. 4 in 180 days sounds about right to me. (Disclaimer, that's using G7 ad not the One+ but the two products are very similar.)

Does anyone understand the nitty-gritty of looping?

Not sure if your maths is right but it depends what kind of pump you have. If you have one that sets rates by "learning your levels" (eg minimed 780g) then I believe the pump will eventually work your dawn phenomena out after it has had enough days of seeing your levels. (Tagging @Nicola M who...

Can you run two different sensors at the same time? (One on phone, one on pump)

Does anyone understand the nitty-gritty of looping?

I notice a difference according to where on my body I place my infusion set.... I don't think it's a magic bullet, but it is preferable to MDI (for me anyway). Also, different pumps have different algorithms? I get a lot less hypos now I am on a pump (tandem tslim)
