Help to bring blood sugars down

Sorry you're feeling so rough @Brettskee If the 25 is from a cgm, have you checked this with a finger prick test. Also have you checked for ketones? With very high levels like that, especially if you can only just about use the phone, please ring 999 or go to A&E urgently. Please keep us...

    Mounjaro

It can be overwhelming at times, but you will get there. Testing pre and 2 hours after your first bite of a meal, as well as fasting is the best way of finding how different foods affect your levels. Are you still low carbing? Maybe look to reducing carbs (depending on how many you are having...

    Medtronic closed loop

I've never had that issue with Dexcom, and from speaking to others before I chose my pump, those using Medtronic sensors were having the issues, whilst Dexcom users weren't. I appreciate this won't be the case for everyone, but certainly was the top reasons why I chose Tandem over Medtronic.

Fasting levels are usually the last level to reduce. Have your levels pre and post meal throughout the day reduced, and has your hba1c @Disconnected? It could be that your insulin isn't at the right amount, but that's something your nurse would have to advise you on (we're not allowed to, as not...

    Dexcom v Libre

I'm very happy with Dexcom G6, readings are usually the same as finger prick tests, even when low (which isn't very often since going onto HCL) or high. If it varies it's not usually by much. I have to use Skin tac before applying.

Hello @EC2024 Welcome to the forum. Sorry I don't know the answer to your question, but just wondered about medication?

Type 1 High keytones normal blood sugar

I'd suggest washing your hands and retest both ketones and bloods, and if ketones are still the same, I'd be going to A&E.

    Relatively newly diagnosed...Jan 2024

I'd be interested to read that paper @Melgar as I need less insulin to carbs in the afternoon and evening than in the morning.

    kidney problems

Sorry to hear this @amin13 Have you seen anyone about the pain? If not, I'd suggest you ring 111 for advice or go to A&E, if the pain is intense or getting worse. Have you spoken to anyone at your drs about the test result?

    Who do I turn to

Pharmacies also measure blood pressure, and would ring the gp or hospital if concerned. Alternatively, you can buy monitors to use at home.

    Diabetic neuropathy

The article in post 4 above says that peripheral neuropathy will show up on an MRI apparently.

    Glucose levels during chest infection

Hello @keysys Welcome to the forum. It's normal for blood sugar to rise when we're ill, including with an infection. If you have been on steroids for your chest infection, they also raise your glucose levels while you're taking them and it takes a while for my bloods to go back to normal after...

    Soft or meltable hypo treatment?

@cdpm has said they have no teeth, @Jordi77 so they are unlikely to be able to manage to eat a sandwich, and Snickers have nuts in. Also chocolate isn't a good hypo treatment, as the fat in it slows down the absorbtion, and hypo treatment needs to be fast acting.
