    Quick update

Just wanted to post a quick update. I had my yearly HB1AC test which came back at 30, i’m absolutely delighted as i haven't checked my BS in the last year. I was diagnosed T2 with a HB1AC of 54 in Feb 2017. Luckily found this forum straight away and went onto a LC diet (1000 cals a...

    15 month update

I thought I’d share a quick update. I was diagnosed Feb 2017 with a HB1AC of 54 i weighed approximately 17.5 - 18 stone. I found this forum fairly early on and read pages and pages of help and advice. I'd like to share an update of where i'm at and how i got here. After being diagnosed i...

    My progress in reversing T2

I don't think I take meds for my thyroid??? but then again I blindly took Statins for 9 years until I worked out how bad they are. The weight loss and change in diet allowed me to stop taking them. I first had high blood pressure when I was 25 and still playing Sunday football. It's...

    My progress in reversing T2

Thanks for the advice, I've got a doctors appointment next week. I'll see if I can convince them to do it on the NHS, but if not i'll use the link above. Much appreciated.

    My progress in reversing T2

Thanks very much for the response, I think it sounds prudent to get an insulin resistance test. I've had a quick scan online and there are a number of firms, you can send a blood sample too. Any recommndations?

    My progress in reversing T2

Hard to say, I really don't count, I've just checked after I reintroduced different foods, then rechecked over time. Typically if i eat breakfast, I'll eat fruit or a small bowl of cereal. Lunch though the week is a salad, at the weekends probably a sandwich and crisps. Meals are whatever my...

    My progress in reversing T2

Hi I began eating carbs in roughly June and just checked after each meal. I started with sweet potatoes etc, then built up. I do tend to eat a healthy/No breakfast and a salad for lunch and exercise. I had one slight high (in the 7's for 5-6 hours) during the summer holiday in France. I'd...

    My progress in reversing T2

I’ve shared my progress before on the forum, but thought it might be worth an update. I found out I had Diabetes early this year, when a random blood test (related to high blood pressure), flagged up that I had a HB1AC of 54. Luckily that night I found this forum and decided to reject...

anyone reversed their type two diabetes to below the normal range in remission or reversed can it be

Approximatly 3 months ago, I lost 5 stone through exercise and cutting calories/carbs. Although I'm cautious (as to not put weight back on), I can eat and drink what I want. Not sure what this means long term, but certainly in the immediate future maintaining weight loss is my focus.

Pilot being run in West Berkshire; RBH reversing T2

I did my own version of this with similar results, Hb1ac reduction from 54 to 31. 5 stone lost. I had slightly more calories, but exercised a lot. All the best. Adrian

    HB1AC results

Cheers, really appreciate the comments. I agree whole heartedly with the points. I think at the moment weight loss and exercise have worked. I don't see much point in stressing my pancreas, but will allow the odd 'cheat day' of carbs and beer. If my levels start to slip I am fully prepared...

    HB1AC results

Just wanted to share my progress. I'm 35yearsold and 6'3. Diagnosed with diabetes through a routine blood test in Febuary, with a HB1AC score of 54. On diagnosis I weighed 17.5 stone, was completely inactive. At the time i over ate and drunk beer a reasonable amount of beer. I was lucky to...

    HbA1c

Exactly the same experience, diagnosed with HB1AC of 54, lost 5 stone. Through exercise, I can now eat what I want. I'd imagine if I put the weight back on diabetes would return. Just had a blood test today, so I'll see how low (or not) I've gone.

anyone reversed their type two diabetes to below the normal range in remission or reversed can it be

I went low carb (approx 1200 calories), but not high fat and exercised daily (1 hr - 1 1/2 hr). I've rapidly dropped from 17.5 - 13 stone, in 2 months. Although I'm cautious and don't push it, I now seem to be able to eat anything. I don't think it constitutes a reversal, as i'd imagine...

    Half Marathon

Can't advise on becoming fat adapted. Went for a run today, I was 4.9 before setting off. Had a dairy milk and ran 8 miles in 1.09 (1.40 is aspirational for the half) Got home and tested after a shower 5.1.

    Half Marathon

1.40 ish. I'm going to start having a few carbs before a run and see what it does. Thanks for your response.

    Half Marathon

I found out I was Diabetic 3 months ago, with a H1AC score of 54, from that day on I went low carb, lost 5 stone and exercised daily for an hour. I've now reintroduced some carbs with dinner, which has had little to no impact on BG. I'm currently training for a half marathon then a full...

Why isn't hyperinsulinemia talked about more

My daughter was born with it. It's exceptionally dangerous as they don't produce ketones, so can go super low. She thankfully has out grown it after 2 years of injections.

    Carbs

Sorry your correct, what I meant was a diet primarily that keeps BG under control. The balanced side is more to maintain weight.
