    pre-diabetes, fasting blood sugars.

Used to write my Fasting Blood sugar here ages ago. Now I hardly ever measure it anymore as it's always around 6.2 and I'm on a steady LCHF diet. Anyone else sick of battling the morning dawn phenomena?

    What should I be eating?

I, personally, don't count anything, but I know some people do. See this site for some inspiration :) https://www.dietdoctor.com/

    Prediabetic + High(ish) Blood Pressure

I've been Pre-diabetic, or known about it, for 18 months now. I went a little bit crazy in the beginning, trying to revert to normal, fasting for breakfast, salads for lunch, and only the meat and veg part of the dinner. My blood pressure has always been in the high end, but it miraculously...

    Reversed prediabetes within 2 months

Great work, well done :) you probably have to stick with the diet you're on now, to keep your blood sugar down, but low carb's pretty good :p

    How bad is diabetes?

Of course you can't cry for every single death. People die horrible deaths every single minute, but by taking out one person and tell their story, you feel empathy with this person (or should do) and therefor it makes you think about have lucky you are. You're still middle-aged and diabetic, but...

Help..Getting bored with veg and dairy

I'd love to reverse instead of control my Pre-diabetes. :) It's really great reading about different peoples experiences and keeping an open mind is absolutely necessary. Even if you're doing okay with whatever diet you have, maybe you can do better?? Please keep posting :D

    Food Portions

Same here, never really was that keen on bread. I went the first 3 months without any bread, just salads for lunch, but now I'm experimenting with different low carb breads. Where I live shopping is limited so I have to bake it myself.. First loafs were really bad, but now I have a few recipes I...

    Meals Questionnaire

Breakfast: Nothing today, some days raw oats with stevia and fullcream milk. Sunday morning , bacon, eggs, sausages, low carb bread. Lunch, salad w/ chicken, bacon, cheese or eggs. Sometimes a home baked slice of low carb bread. 4pm, starving at this point, finished work and eating what I can...

    Food Portions

Seems like you have it all sorted :) The best is to 'eat to the meter' as most people do here as we're all different. I've noticed a BIG difference in my fasting BG if I have mushrooms for dinner, especially Portobello mushroom. Just eating normal low carb dinner, my FBG is around 6-6.5 in the...

Hi I'm a newbie and just been diagnosed

Hi and Welcome :) I think most of us think, why me? I was the skinny person in my family, could eat just about anything without gaining weight and I've been diagnosed with prediabetes. As it turned out it's actually been quite good for me after the initial resentment and frustration. I'm...

Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

I lost weight pretty fast when I started low carb, but I also held back on too much fat. Only eat as much fat as you need to feel full and I'm sure the weight will go down. Good luck, seems like you're on to it now :)

    pre-diabetes, fasting blood sugars.

From Dietdoctor: Elevated blood sugars more or less exclusively in the morning is a common concern. This is known as “the Dawn Phenomenon” and occurs due to hormonal effects in the morning. It may actually be even more pronounced on a low-carb diet, compared to other diets. Many people get...

    pre-diabetes, fasting blood sugars.

Given up on posting FBG. Almost always between 6-6.5 unless I have a meal with mushroom and cream, then I can get it down to 5.6 or similar. On the upside I hardly ever go over 7.8 PP :)

    Bullies and diabeties?

Hi Lulu, It's never easy to be a little different. There's a lot of cruel and ignorant people out there, but you are unique and much better than them. Seems like you're finished with school soon anyway, just try and hold on a bit longer. There's a whole new life waiting for you! That said, you...

    What are your favourite Fandoms?

No, I have to update my DVD collection soon :) Nothing on TV here I'm afraid, living in the middle of the South Pacific. My favorite part must be the Daleks and the statues that moves when you don't look at them. Scary!!
