    Metformin dosage

    I have just had my 6 month check up and the diabetes nurse has cut my metformin from 2 500mg 3 times a day to just 4, even though my blood sugar control is poor, she said any more than 4 doesn't work, is this right?

    I havent changed my diet at all, my BS levels were always under 8.5 2 hours after a meal and never went over 8.5 an hour after food, so to now be getting readings of 14/15 is worrying. My usual waking readings were around 5.5.
