    Good news

I had my dreaded doctors appointment today to start blood pressure medicine, but for the first time in ever I had a completely normal reading, not only that but I've lost six pounds in the last three weeks!!! No added meds for me and I feel like I'm doing something right diet and exercise wise!!

    Morning test

Morning fasting test is 8.5 again. Today I'm going to quit eating earlier to see if it helps. I've been managing to keep it at roughly a 5 throughout the day but mornings are always high.

    Does anyone else take Rosuvastatin?

I just feel like I have a horrible flu, I'm probably just being a big baby. Fuzzy, weak and extremely nauseated. Hopefully it warms up a bit outside so I can try to get out for a walk or in the yard for some fresh air.

    Does anyone else take Rosuvastatin?

I took my first dose of Rosuvastatin 10 mg last night before bed and to say I don't feel well this morning is an understatement. I hope this is just because it's a new thing and isn't always going to be like this.

    High meter reading

I plan to keep at it, between the diabetes, high cholesterol and stage two hypertension I am extremely terrified of what comes next if I don't pay attention. We die young in this family. My brother died of a heart attack when he was 48, he had never smoked or drank a day in his life. My mother...

    High meter reading

I'm keeping track of all foods on an app called spark people. The doctor told me I don't need to check my blood sugar levels. I totally plan on keeping up with the monitoring as well because I thought that was incredibly stupid. She also said I have high protein in my urine but didn't elaborate...

    High meter reading

I had my second visit today since being diagnosed, she changed the dose of the gliclazide from 60 MG once a day to twice daily. She also added Rosuvastatin 10 MG due to extremely high cholesterol and will be adding hypertension medicine in two weeks. I have switched to sugar twin for my coffee...

    High meter reading

Hi guys, so I have read alot of stuff how to increase your blood glucose levels quickly if they are too low, but is there anything you can eat/do to lower them if they are too high? I've been trying to cut down the carbs but I'm really struggling. Losing weight and changing your eating habits is...

    This sucks :(

I made it a bit easier, I made a list of what is not ok and what is ok and stuck it on the fridge so my husband can learn as well, so he quits asking me if I want to order food or have an ice cream ;)

    This sucks :(

Thank you so much for the info. I actually are yesterday and feel much better today. I have looked at the carb sites as suggested and am very happy to know I don't have to starve myself. I was in such a state last week with the diagnosis everything got jumbled in my brain. I'm very happy to...

    This sucks :(

Omg, I feel absolutely silly. I've been obsessively eating as little as possible, to try to burn more calories than I've taken in. I'm pretty sure all I've done is caused my self this awful headache and fatigue. Thank you everyone for the help. I'm so happy to find out I can still eat meat ;) I...

    This sucks :(

Oh no, I think I'm dieting wrong, I've been counting calories. I have a small breakfast, like a bowl of bran flakes, lunch maybe one or two hard boiled eggs and a 100 calorie salad for dinner. I'm craving pasta big time!!

    This sucks :(

I was diagnosed type 2 last Monday. So I immediately and radically changed my diet. But my problem is I'm hungry. I'm five foot four and 174 pounds at 44 years old. All my weight is in my torso. I got a blood testing machine but I hate it and it seems to hate me. It always says not enough blood...
