    In my opinion I would be happy with these readings over 6 years given the meds you are on. You could try low carb and see if it reduces you blood pressure etc. If you did in my opinion it will reduce your hba1c

    Newly diagnosed Type 2, HbA1c is 101, feeling really concerned.

    I was diagnosed at 109 and after two months on metformin I reduced to 59. At this point I stopped my Metformin and after another 4 month of eating lchf I was at a hba1c of 41.

    Cholesterol

    Wrong . There is good and bad ldl. Ldl particle "a" the big fluffy type is good and ldl particle "b" is bad. Docs only see the hradline calculation and prescribe statins which is not always a good thing.

    Look at what you eat. Cut out as much carbs as you can. Carbs = glucose. I have done this and I am not on any meds. Read reversing your diabetes by Dr David Cavan

    I don't agree with the principle of metformin. It does stop the liver releasing stored glucose but this could cause the liver to store more because you are interfering with the bodies natural process. Best not to eat so many carbs & sugars in the first place. Let the liver depleat it's fat...
