Crashes after carbs- is this RH?

I think that if you are type two, or they think you are, you need to reduce your carbs, and that includes grains. If you're a reactive hypoglycemic, the same is true. So until lockdown is over, I'd take your diet very seriously and just try and do your best to try and avoid a crash. Nobody will...

RH and how it affected my pregnancy

So, I wanted to share my story because when I was looking for testimonials on women with RH and how it affected their pregnancies- I found nothing! So! I worked really hard to gain weight and this was particularly difficult because I had nothing sickness my entire pregnancy. I felt like I'd...

    A short rant

So, some of you on here know that I'm pregnant, if not, then you know now! Well, naturally, I'm on a few pregnancy boards and right now, the women are all going through a 1 hour, and 3 hour glucose test (I am refusing to do mine as my sugars are fine, given I monitor them often throughout...

    RH and Pregnancy- labor included

I have actually been given the option! I would really rather do natural because I don't want to deal with the recovery and scar tissue of a c-section, but I might end up having to pick it over natural just because I have too many things that could complicate delivery. Definitely hard to...

    RH and Pregnancy- labor included

I plan to let them know once I go in to tour the hospital and meet the staff so I can ask about their policies on eating and delivery. I might choose to eat anyway, but I'd hate for it to cause complications. Definitely tricky. I can see how an energy drink may have helped though, if your...

    Nocturnal Hypo

I think the way it dropped and the amount of time for recovery was a little unusual, but everyone's body is different. I suffered heavily from BS drop at night, especially since becoming pregnant. I just have an additional meal before bed, high in protein and usually some milk which holds me...

Is this RH? Help figuring out if I have RH!

I had a 2 hour GTT. My fasting was 90, then one hour after the drink I was given it shot up to 145, and by the next hour was at 34. I crashed (not crashed the car, my mum had driven me to the blood place) in the car on the way home. Not all reactions are as quick as mine was, but it...

    Nerve Pain

Hey there, I was diagnosed in 2017, but had the symptoms for MANY years prior. Earlier this year, I began to get migraines and occular disturbances that NEVER stop. But in addition, I had a burning sensation across my body, and it was worse at night. I struggle hard with CFS and so naturally...

    RH and Pregnancy- labor included

A glucose drip would very dangerous for me, as my blood sugar is controlled by avoiding sugars and having proteins instead. I've accepted that I might have to do a c section anyway, given that fact, but I'm hoping there's a way around it.

    RH and Pregnancy- labor included

Soooo, I have usually come to this forum when I need help with BS and to my pregnancy forum for help with pregnancy stuff. However, the women there have NO IDEA how to respond to RH, just to diabetes which REALLY isn't helpful. With that said: I wanted to know if anyone on here knows if...

    Diabetic Retinopathy and Reactive Hypoglycemia

This actually does help to an extent, and my low blood sugar is caused by a spike in blood sugar, it rises before it falls and for a long time, it went undiagnosed for 7 years where I consumed mostly sugary things from sodas to cakes, my body would tear through the sugar so fast that it would...

    Diabetic Retinopathy and Reactive Hypoglycemia

Can reactive hypoglycemia be a cause of diabetic retinopathy? I have had spells where I just can't see. It only lasts seconds. There is no pain whatsoever. I also have very dry eyes in the morning as if I slept with my contact lenses in. Additionally, I suffer from aversions to brightness...

    For the first time

@Lamont D Hello, I have an update: I did have them put a scope down my throat. I have extensive gastritis that looks like it's causing the acid to flare and is causing me to have spasming throughout my esophagus. I find out today the cause of the gastritis.

    My RH and Esophageal spasms

I can't eat anything cold and room temperature threw me into agony. I was drinking a lot of coffee because the warmth felt nice until recently and now everything hurts. They shouldn't sheriff the spamming off. It can be caused by some very serious things. My Digestive disease doctor found...

    My RH and Esophageal spasms

@DCUKMod almonds as in the nut, it would be possible I was allergic, but I don't eat them to excess, and the symptoms are all there regardless as to if I've eaten any. The almonds don't help anymore. They help the acid but not the spasming.

    My RH and Esophageal spasms

Yeah definitely not nice! I'm pretty good at keeping food down, but I can't seem to do it so well anymore. I used to chug a drink to get food to go down all the way, and pills were a nightmare. I took ranitidine for the first great and a half of my diagnosis and one day it just didn't help. So I...

    My RH and Esophageal spasms

Thank you all for your empathy with me. I did suffer from GERD for years, medications stopped helping and before long, everything I ate hurt. I mostly drink coffee because the warmth relaxes my esophagus. It feels like I'm being punished for eating: cold foods, and any drink that isn't warm...

    Travelling by plane

I have always brought mine onto planes. They even allow me to bring my artificial sweetener. They really can't tell you no given it's for your health. I've even brought snacks in my bag and just explained that I'm on a strict diet that isn't supported by their company's dietary options. They...
