    Lucozade petition

It's been alright for me in regards to lucozade, just it's not very practical to have to drink a whole bottle for every hypo you have. Even so, I still use it to great affect

    Omnipod and airports

I have flown about 4 times since diagnosis and they have never stopped to search my bag or anything like that. Then again, I don't know about the libre, because I haven't flown with it on. I'm still dreaming of the day when they say 'Any sharps or liquids?' and I get to reply 'Yes, about 200...

Poll: Which diabetes course(s) have you attended?

I have attended DAFNE, but they did not tell me anything I already knew. However my Grandma who came along with me learned a lot and that was useful to her as she sometimes looks after me while my parents are away.

    Little Help?

The thing is with this, sometimes I can go to bed at say 6.5 and when when I check my libre it shows that I have stayed the exact same all night. So I am pretty sure my basal is right. Also, with school, I don't really think I could do basal testing at school because the lack of food would make...

    Little Help?

I have a few times been woken up by the low sugar, and check my libre, it says it is low, then i check my blood with my actual meter and it also says it is low

    Flying

I flew around the same time as you after diagnosis, and it was fine. I recommend keeping all your spares in your hand luggage, because anything can happen in the hold. They didn't bother me about the sharp objects and the 'drugs' when I went through. They are probably told about them.

    Freestyle Libre

Maybe it is the 15 minute thing? Just remember hypos happen suddenly, and the sensors are giving you a BS reading of 15 minutes before you scan...

    A minor rant.

If your basal is right, it doesn't matter if you have no carbs acting. You should just stay consistent.

    Little Help?

Hi, I was diagnosed in March and have had pretty good BG since then. My HbA1C after being diabetic for three months was 7.2, which he said was fine. However, I am having a lot of trouble recently. My blood sugars are all over the place. I can go to bed at 6.7 and wake up at 13.8, even if I have...

    A Levemir Question

I could take it a few hours later than the night before, and my sugar would be fine. Also, ask your doctor about Tresiba. It's the same as Levemir, but lasts a bit longer. Same pen and everything. My blood sugars after 24 hours have been a lot better since I changed.

How To Cope With Type 1 Diabetes

Just don't think about it. I can sometimes just forget it's there till I eat. I think the best thing I did was tell everyone I come into contact with regularly. They accepted it and it became normal for them, so it became normal for me as well. Also, your dog is very cute!!!

    Hypo

I did that, I advise just eating LOADS no matter the cost. If it’s your life or your weight, always go for your life

Is there a Stigma attached to your diabetes ? What is your experience.

Personally, I kind of like injecting in public. Once you realise people are not being rude, and that they are just interested, it’s actually quite empowering

    Type 1 Help?

You should get a free eye test for being diabetic, I certainly do. However, I don't think there is any discount on glasses because of diabetes unless you have glaucoma.

    Contour Next One Meter

Hi everyone! I recently recieved my contour next one meter. It is very good and suits what I need very well. However, I was only diagnosed in early march and I am not sure if they will put the strips for the new meter on my prescription. What shall I say to them to convince them to let me use...

    Problem with Novo Pen

I recently had this with my novopen echo. I find that changing the needle or simply unscrewing it and then putting it back on helps. If this keeps on happening, order a new one from the hospital that you have your appointments at. Or just get an echo or a 5 lol
