A bit frustrated with the NHS

I once went to get my repeat prescription filled when the pharmacist decided he needed to do a meds and lifestyle review, after telling me how and when to take meds that I had been taking for years, the conversation went as follows: Pharmacist- Do you smoke ? Me (impatient by now)- No, I gave...

    Shaking

Hi, shaking can be caused by vitamin B deficiency, especially vit B12. If it IS this then it`s easily cured with diet or a supplement. Either way no real point in worrying (although I know it`s hard not to). Chris.

Diabetes UK Petition for improved food labelling

Very true, it`s unfortunate however that even that one single step is shackled to a ball and chain of misinformation from the "authorities". It makes for very slow progress.

Diabetes UK Petition for improved food labelling

Telling people how many carbs are in a product will only help if people are made aware of the effect said carbs have on them, having said that it is very important information to have when making food choices, I just wish we were better educated in the first place.

    Increasingly frustrated by GP

I know that a lot of you have had problems getting your test results but I have to say that in about 10yrs or more I have only had to wait more than 2 days once, and that was when the sample was mislaid, I often get it the same day! I have had the argument with the receptionist about not giving...

Type 2 Statins - GP insisting Simvastatin 20mg

If, after due consideration, you decide that you really don`t want to take statins but you don`t want to argue with your GP either then simply take the prescription but don`t bother to get it filled.

    Change in taste

My tastes have definitely changed, at one time I couldn`t STAND the taste of cauliflower, broccoli, kale etc. and sprouts were the devils own work! Happily I now enjoy all of them, although I usually have some butter with them. I agree about the potatoes, a meal just doesn`t seem complete...

    alternative medicines

Hi, I just looked it up and it`s first claim is that it helps in the production of insulin, a bit misleading this as many, many T2`s don`t have a problem with insulin production, it`s insulin resistance that we normally suffer with. Another claim is that it stops carb cravings, well to be honest...
