    The day has arrived!

Same! Mine are much better. A loooong conversation with my lovely diabetes nurse today, doing some more tweaking on the machine. It won’t change overnight, but for me, I feel I have turned a corner. It’s a much better way. But more tweaking needed!

    The day has arrived!

Glad you are doing well. And don’t worry too much at this stage about your levels. That’s what I was told. In the long run they will be much better. I’m still struggling with night time lows, but I’m confident, with help from the diabetes team, they will be ironed out. I’m no expert (2 and...

Heathrow and the Pump interrogations and scaners and xray machines!!!!!

Not a nice experience! I must admit I am slightly worried about my pump and travel. I’ve only had it 2 weeks today. The last time I came through Masa Alam in Egypt last year to return home, i actually had my insulin pens taken off me to show the supervisor. They were out of my sight and it...

    Alternative Insight Handset 'Carry Case'

There are so many pretty zip bags out there. Cath Kidston, Sophie Allport... this one is a Nicky James. A friend bought it for my birthday. The rubber cover was given to me by the Roche lady who was at all the pump appointments, in other colours too. Maybe you could get one from Roche...

Where to put a pump as a woman??

I bought a cheapish belt from amazon. It’s really comfortable but it doesn’t retain its shape so have to wash it a lot to shrink it back. Mostly I’m wearing it in a bra pouch but on one side or the other just past the cup. I don’t like wearing it in the middle so much.

Blood in cannula. Day 2 of pump

Calming down now. Sorry, it’s a bumpy ride at the moment! I think for now I’ll set my alarm for a couple of hours time and check my blood sugar. Then put a new one in when I’ve spoken to the DSN in the morning. Thanks guys!

Blood in cannula. Day 2 of pump

I’m probably over reacting. But the cannula I changed earlier today has bright red blood in it. It doesn’t hurt at all, but it’s a bit alarming! I’m about to go to bed and was told not to change it at night? It’s my second change. Any advice would be welcome!

    Anyone treated at Wythenshawe hospital?

I keep seeing your post just below mine and wish I could help. I do hope you’ve got some clarity today. I’d very much doubt they will take you off the pump. Obviously I have no idea, I’m down in Somerset! I can understand your anxiety though. Good luck.

A week till I start the pump eeek!

Thank you for taking the time to reply in such depth. That’s been really helpful. It seems crazy worrying about the cannula when I’ve been injecting for 20 years! But it’s all new and strange. I intend to give it all a good chance. If it tightens control then I’ll be happy.
