Accu chek combo white dots

Hi - I'm a new combo pump user. Do any old hands know what is the purpose of the 2 white dots on the black adaptor that you push onto the end of the cartridge?
 
I don’t seem to have any on mine. I’m only 2 weeks in though, so not an old hand!
 
It's been a while since I used a combo, is the battery cover a screw in one, if so its so you can see its turnng as you do it up and undo it.
 
It's not the battery cover - it's the cartridge cover, but you may be right i.e. that the dots are a help for people with poor eyesight. However, I suspect that they may not be able to do other things such as check for air-bubbles and see the insulin going up the plastic tube.
