    Thanks for the help. I'm due to see my GP in June so I'll check my Hba1c then and see what he says. I'm already taking quite a few tablets for other problems; that's why I'm reluctant to add to the collection!

    Thanks for all the replies. The idea was to use up the out of date strips before requesting more. They are not on an automatic repeat prescription; it's just that I made a mistake in ordering more. My meter is a 'One Touch - Ultra Easy' and doesn't seem to react to the date of strip...

    Grazer Thanks very much for that. I'm very fortunate that my GP doesn't have an issue with providing test strips. In fact I've accumulated (without realising) some out of date test strips - I've posted a message elsewhere on this forum about these strips.

    I've been lurking for some time and learnt a lot thanks to all the postings. I'm type 2 diet controlled gradually getting worse but desperate to avoid starting medication as I'm taking too many other pills for heart problems etc. regards from Bert
