    I attended the DAFNE course about 14 months after being diagnosed so I was out of the 'honeymoon' period, tbh I don't know where I would be if I hadn't attended and I would highly recommend it.

    What caused it???

    I was diagnosed T1 in March 2011 age 30, no previously family history of anything including Diabetes, my sister has Lupus though. I believe it was brought on after a hugely stressful period of my life. Unless it was triggered by a virus or environmental factors. Truth be told I don't know for sure

    High around 35, after night on the beer! Felt awful for 2 days, low of 1.9 which I managed to self handle :shock:

    My morning hypers - Help?!!

    Hormones can play a big part in morning hypers, especially during puberty/teenage years, not much you can do really apart from correct at breakfast, but yeah definitely to be safe 3am tests are required to ensure no hypos during the night :D

    Stopped taking insulin - blood sugars fine. Advice!!

    You could develop Ketones with out any insulin at all as your body needs something to live off with out Carbs, ie, fat. Therefore you could be putting yourself at risk

    I have been advised to test before a carb free meal then test again 3-4 hours later so that you have quick acting in your system, you should be roughly the same bg reading if you are on the correct dosage
