I discovered a while ago that I can have 85% dark chocolate without my levels being affected. Just bought Tesco finest Swiss 85% dark chocolate and it's the best tasting yet and relatively low with 18g of carbs in the whole bar.

Anyone else got any favourites? Or know what the lowest carb bar is?

Ummm lovely ....still getting used to green and blacks anything above 70% it was £1 a bar today....so bought a few for winter :) the choc offer was in tesco.....

i love all of them, it the only time i drink real tea (pg tips) they were made for each other, the choccy melts in the mouth because the tea yum

There's a nice 85% dark chocolate in Aldi called Moser Roth that comes in five individual bars per pack, each bar has 4g of carbs and tastes much nicer than some of the more expensive brand names.

Yes, thanks to noblehead, Moser Roth choc bars taste lovely. I don't buy them anymore as one square leads to eating another and another and before you know it, the whole bar has gone

Hi

Yes i have tried Tescos finest dark chocolate 85% i think its lovely, i also see dark chocoalte with mint its 73% coco that is also Tesco finest, does raise your levels a small bit but ok as a small treat as long as you only have a small bit.

Thanks for all the replies, I'll have to get myself down to Aldi and Lidl then!

It's pricey, but hotel chocolat 85% is lovely for a treat! I buy the batons occasionally, hard to only have 1 baron at a time though!

I know, I always promise myself half a 100g bar at a time, but it never happens!

My local nisa supermarket currently has Lindt 85% dark choc at £1 a bar - they've now got 15 bars less than they had on offer this morning after my visit!

My personal favourite is Elizabeth Shaw 85% cocoa, it's not as bitter and only 16g carbs per bar 100g, I bought it from Sainsbury's not cheap at two quid a bar though.

I have found a 85% extra dark chocolate from Sainsburys 5 bars for £1.39. 4.2g carb per bar. Hopefully this will help a bit of portion control. I have yet to taste.

Ah yes, I've had both those bars from sainsbury's but forgot all about them. I'll have to pop over and get some!

I keep mine in the fridge, eat 2 squares on Saturday and 2 on Sunday, it takes a while to melt in the mouth so feel as though I have had more.

My vote is for the Aldi 85% stuff for regular scoffing - a bar for breakfast (that's a fifth of the package :D not the whole thing) and share another bar with the OH after dinner as a pud.

For serious treats it has to be Hotel Chocolat's 100% chocolate - so bitter you couldn't possibly eat the whole lot at once...

Cheers, BB

My favourite for flavour is Lindt 90%.
