    Dizziness and loss of balance

Hi Tom, One option that wouldn't hurt, is going to see your GP and telling them your concerns. They should be able to find out what it is, and then help you. The blood glucose testers you can buy are great, but it can be tricky interpreting the results if you are not used to using one...

    HbAc1 92 to 55 in 3 months

Just thought I’d let you all know that my HbAc1 test result has gone from 92 down to 55! I was really shocked and pleased with the result. It seems they have got me on the right meds (Metformin). The diabetic nurse I saw though, had no records of my stay in hospital when they diagnosed me with...

    Type 2 Tired after eating!

I’ve always gotten really tired after eating, and a couple of weeks ago, I passed out in the middle of the road and woke up in hospital. they told me I had type 2 diabetes. My blood sugars were in the low to mid 20’s and my AbCa1 (or whatever it is) was 92.4. Does this mean I’ve always been...

    Metformin wind

I was diagnosed as diabetic type 2 a couple of weeks ago, and they've put me on metformin 500mg twice a day. I have noticed that i get a sore tummy after taking them, and produce quite a lot of foul smelling wind. I've always gotten really tired and sleepy after eating, so that is nothing new...

    hbA1c and Freestyle Libre

My HbAc1 is 97.4, but hopefully should be going down with the Metformin. I personally wouldn’t do anything without speaking to your nurse or doctor first. Doctor told me I didn’t need to prick my fingers, and just do it when the diabetic nurse asks me to.

Bad head pain & confusion after hypo?

Hi Kate, Has he ever been to see a neurologist to see if migraines are complicating matters? I have type II diabetes, and can suddenly blank out, with blood sugars of about 14, and slowly come round. All confused, my right hand side weak, my speech slurred, and the most horrendous headache that...

    Found out yesterday I'm diabetic

I've seen diabetic nurse now, and she says I'm type 2 diabetic. I had a good cry on her shoulder, and she said that was ok. It's just something new to get used to. She said I have to start having breakfast now as the pills can make you a bit windy if not. I'm feeling a lot better about it now...

    Found out yesterday I'm diabetic

Thank you for your kind words. It is all very scary at the moment. I came into hospital as I'd collapsed in the middle of the road while crossing it. I get severe migraines as well that don't help, and my mobility is dodgy at the best of times. I'm currently waiting to do the 'make a cup of tea'...

    Found out yesterday I'm diabetic

I accidentally found out I was diabetic yesterday. A friend of mine who is a diabetic nurse at the hospital here that I've been in for over a week, told me. She said my AbCda1 (or whatever it's called) was very high, 92.4, and that my blood sugars the nurses had been measuring were very high as...
