Yes, I've been diabetic for 25 years and am confident with dosing adjustments so this doesn't worry me or fill me with dread. I do have a split dose, 5 in the morning and 14 in the evening.

Hi, and thanks for your response. It's usually when it goes over 10, regardless of how much insulin on board I have. I just don't seem to be able to wait say half an hour. And you're bang on the money there, I often end yo yoing, and also have time hypos, which are absolutely awful.

Hi, is there such a thing as an insulin pen that tracks your doses and allows you to retrieve the tracked data? Either NHS or privately funded would be ideal. I use Humalog insulin cartridges which I use in an Lilly HumaPen. Thanks Ian

Cheers for the comments. I need to point out that I don't eat meals like this often but you can't let diabetes rule your life so it's inevitable that I'll eat a big, high carb meal from time to time.
