Probably been asked a million times but ...

I just want to take a moment and thank you all for the help and responses, they've been a great help. I might have come across as a little petulant in some cases, but it's been something of a journey so far and I'm waiting for surgery on my eye to remove a cataract and, obviously, I'm loathed...

Disagreement with doctors about testing strips

Bah, that sucks. I had a similar experience with my GP, but thankfully it got resolved pretty quickly when I asked him to do the math. My argument was that there are 50 test strips in a pot and I have to test 4x daily. Once he did the math he put it right again. I hope you get it sorted out soon.

Probably been asked a million times but ...

Honestly, no. I have asked on several occasions but the nurse skirts over it. In fact when I asked her about carb counting she simply told me to pay for an app on iTunes. I'm almost to the point where I feel like giving in.

Probably been asked a million times but ...

I generally go to bed with readings of about 8 - a 50 unit shot of Humalog with food. 2 hours after breakfast im about 10. Another 2 hours after that and I'm down to 7 or 8. Occasionally a fraction lower.

Probably been asked a million times but ...

Usually breakfast will consist of scrambled egg and tomato. On the days there's no egg I'll just have 2 slices of granary toast. Lunch is usually soup and a small salad. Maybe with 2 cracker bread. Not always though. Evening meal can occasionally be a little loser but not by much. In thinking...

Probably been asked a million times but ...

As a general rule I don't have a great deal of carbs in a day. I usually have 2 slices of granary bread for breakfast (on the days I don't have scrambled egg) and salad at lunch. My evening meal might occasionally have a few more carbs than it should (always in what I think is moderation), but...

Type 2: What are your most recent HBA1C results?

My last set of results (Jan 2018) came back at 91. And I can't get it any lower no matter what meds I seem to be on. Getting annoyed with it, really, being as I need a cataract operation.

Probably been asked a million times but ...

I'm 42 and have been T2 diabetic for 8 years now, although it's only in the last year that I've been moved onto insulin in conjunction with Metformin. I'm in a position now where I feel personally happy with my day-to-day blood readings (I'm down to 7 or 8 from 17+ daily), however, my morning...

Type 2 Recently moved onto insulin, but confusion awaits!

Very possible. Though to be honest, until very recently it's only now that I've become more conscious of what I'm eating. Its a minefield. Lol.

Type 2 Recently moved onto insulin, but confusion awaits!

Ah the levels have come down slightly from what they were. I started out with readings of 28, sometimes 20, so to come down to around 13 is, for me, a good sign. However, when I first started my levels dropped to 10 and 11 on two consecutive tests, but then rose again and never went back down to...

The insulin I'm taking, it's called Abasaglar.

Type 2 Recently moved onto insulin, but confusion awaits!

If this has been asked before, I'm sorry. I’ve been T2 diagnosed now for quite a long time and as a result I’ve been on Matformin and Gliclozide. However, I was recently been moved onto insulin by the hospital. They ask I take one shot a day first thing after checking my bloods, which are...

New kid on the block - needs a little help.

Wow, thanks guys for the help. I feel a little better now I have found a portal to come and hunt through. I have to say I was a little dubious about searching for answer online, but having read through a lot of the post so far throughout the forum, I seem to be in good hands. If only the...

New kid on the block - needs a little help.

I had been diagnosed with type-2 diabetes now for just over a year, and while I never really took much notice at first, over the last few months I have started to take notice. I take Metformin 3 times a day (as well as a new pill I cannot remember the name of right now that I take once a day)...
