I've honestly just been really lazy with taking readings and not looking after myself. I'll obviously try and be a lot tighter in control now! This is my third and my previous two always measured correct for dates and we're still 9lb2oz and 8lb13oz at 38 weeks so nervous how big this little man...
I've been so bad with keeping control lately. I just had a growths scan at 30+4 and bubs is measuring 4 weeks ahead and they're talking about possibly delivering early (didnt say how early yet). I have another growth scan in 2 weeks. Does anyone have experience? Did you deliver early? xx
Thanks we're both doing well!
Mrsass my blood sugars suddenly started dropping at 32 weeks and between then and 36 weeks I reduced my insulin by around 20%. They seemed to steady a bit after that. All growth and doppler scans were fine. I had an elective at 38 weeks due to a previous section xx
Just wanted to update. My baby girl was born by elective section on 23/3 at 9.17am. She weighed 8lb 13oz! I read my notes after I got home from the hospital and turns out the placenta was unhealthy so it seems the hypos may have been an indication after all but thankfully everything turned out...
I think I'll have to! I didn't even realise I was low because I was dozing on the sofa. If Flynn hadn't made me get up I'm not sure what would have happened. It's a scary thought!
Thank you both. I'm trying not to worry about her size and concentrate on her movements.
Still having lots of hypos so will need to reduce insulin more I think. Had my worst ever hypo of 1.9 this morning which is scary since I'm often home alone with my 2yr old :(
Thanks azure. My consultant only does AC measurements, she refuses to give weight estimates and doesn't plot anything on a graph so I've no idea what centile she was/is on so its kind of hard to tell if its concerning or not. I guess we'll know more in 2 weeks when shes measured again. It was a...
Hi, I had my growth scan yesterday and the placenta is fine but I'm worried about how shes growing! At 29 weeks her AC was measuring at 30+2 weeks and yesterday at 33 weeks her AC was measuring at 31+5 weeks. Thats only 10 days growth in 4 weeks!! The consultant wasn't worried but I think she...
Thank you. I've spoken to my DSN and he discussed with my consultant and they don't seem concerned and have reduced my insulin dose. Baby is moving well and I have a growth scan on Thursday anyway so will check on baby then.
Really suffering with all the hypos now though. Had one of 2.3 today...
Hi, I'm type 1 and 32 weeks pregnant. I've been really insulin resistant up to now and on 60 units of novorapid with each meal. For the last few days my readings have just been all over the place and not making sense at all. Mostly they seem to be slightly high 1hr post meals but then I'm having...
Thanks for replying noblehead :) I got through the night ok with only a minor hypo at 6am which was easily treated with a couple more glucose tabs. I took my lantus last night as well so no worries there.
I'm type 2 diabetic but currently taking insulin because I'm 28 weeks pregnant.
I accidently took 27 units of novorapid instead of my lantus.
Please advise on what I should do! I've taken some glucose tablets so far. Blood sugar is about 10 but only injected the insulin about 15mins ago so...
I'm a type 2 diabetic but I started taking insulin a few weeks ago because of side effects from metformin.
I had my 16 week appointment today and my urine was positive for protein and ketones. I had just eaten lunch so I don't think it was anything to do with lack of food.
I have an...
Hopefully they'll put me on that then :) Think I'll keep a diary of all my bloods until I see the nurse in a couple of weeks so she can she how bad they are. Hopefully it'll encourage her to put me on insulin. xx
They might do. The diabetic nurse in my hometown is much more involved then my doc at uni so she'll probably have something to say about my highs. My fasting level this morning was 12.7 so I'm definitely worried about that. Increased my metformin today so obviously I've had a horrible upset...
I saw my diabetes doc today and he didn't seem too concerned about my hba1c but he's told me to increase my metformin gradually so I'm eventually taking 4 tabs a day- only taking 2 atm. I've not really been testing much but I just tested and it was 17.4  Did have a naughty dinner today...
It's supposedly in the nice guidelines that we should be offered one between 7-9 weeks so hopefully I will be :)
I don't really have a diabetic nurse atm. At university and the nearest nurse was difficult to get to (couple of buses) so I'm just seeing a GP atm who has some training with...
Hi, just found out I'm pregnant  only 4 weeks atm
I've heard you get an early scan when you're diabetic between 6-9 weeks. Does anyone know if this is correct? Do you still get the 12 week scan as well?
I'm so anxious to find out everythings ok so really hope I get an early scan...
Hey, I'm 21 and on statins  Total cholesterol was 6.1 which doc said was too high for a diabetic so it needed to be lowered and put me on 40mg simvastatin daily. I've been on them about 5 months now and no problems as of yet. Got my 6 month check up in March so we'll see how they've...
