Ah so basically I’m my own worst enemy (thought I had thought porridge would be good) currently working with only 30 minutes lunch break I'm too anxious to sit in the canteen hence the sandwiches but am leaving mid January so will have more time to cook & eat better

    Dry mouth / catarrh

Last time in July my HbA1c was 69mmol/L when I was diagnosed my doctor said not to do daily checks for Type 2 (but I did borrow a reader (sterilised & new needle) recently & my fasting readings were around 11mmolL over the couple of days I used it, 2hrs after eating, so not overly good Food...

    Dry mouth / catarrh

Hello I’d be very grateful to receive some advice on home remedies please, I was diagnosed about 3 years ago, but recently I’ve been suffering with a very dry mouth (so bad it’s affected my teeth & I’m having to have 4 taken out next week) does anyone have any recommendations on how to alleviate...

Thank you all for your responses, I’m type 2 & my GP when I was diagnosed a couple of years ago told me not to take readings, so generally I don’t but my recent HbA1c results were 75 & I felt so rough this am I thought I’d check it as a one off, my new GP has just changed my meds to...

Type 2 16.8mmol/l 2 hours after eating, but sweating

Hi I’m confused my readings were 16.8mmol/l 2 hours after eating (13.7mmol/l 3 hours after) which I believe is quite high, but I’m sweating (cold clammy type) which everywhere tells me is a low sugar symptom, any ideas why this is happening?

    Ingrown toenail

Good morning Please may I ask for advice as to who I should approach regarding an ingrown toenail, self care hasn’t cured it, & whilst there doesn’t appear to be any signs of infection spreading the nail bed is swollen & painful, exacerbated by a slipped disc which is making that leg but numb &...

Covid and Work, Covid Advice and General Chat

I work admin in an FE college, & I would like to see a requirement for all staff & students to wear PPE, no one has ever to my knowledge said at what point/age ‘children’ change from not being spreaders to go being otherwise. You can’t go in a shop without it for 10mins but you can be in a...

Covid and Work, Covid Advice and General Chat

The press are too busy ‘teacher bashing’ to be worried about real news/risks. I work admin in an FE college, due to start back on Monday & tbh I’m bricking it, I have type 2, am 64 with a history of lung sarcoidosis & none alcoholic fatty liver disease, am currently overweight (though not...

DO YOU WANT TO JOIN ME TO MAKE A CHANGE TO CURRENT GUIDELINES?

I’d like more support nutritionally, whilst not ‘poor’ £14.99 a month for a diet plan is a bit more than I’d like to commit to on a regular basis, so I think the NHS could provide say a years worth of diet plan to the newly diagnosed, as whilst I’ve been given charts etc. Translating into a meal...

    A bit concerned

I know I guess I’m just ‘frightened’ of getting it wrong & not feeling terribly supported by my GP

    A bit concerned

I do ‘try’ to be good but whilst I’m by no means ‘thick’ I struggle with the concept of good & bad fats etc, is it worth do you think signing up for the Low Carb Programme (I have to admit I find the £14.99 a month a bit off putting)

    A bit concerned

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about 2.5 years ago, for at least 2 years I’ve been troubled with intermittent Diarrhea lately going at least twice if not 5 times a day, a colonoscopy showed nothing of concern, my doctor has tried changing my Metformin to Sukkarto in case it’s that that is...

    Lichen Sclerosus

Hi I've had LS for years sadly, diagnosed about 6 years ago but think in retrospect I'd had the onset for about 10 years before that putting physical issues down to dryness etc creams keep it under control more or less but After 2 Fentons procedures and with severe atrophy in that area I've...
