    The readings were taken one after the other but each time I selected a different mode. I'm not questioning the accuracy, I'm curious why the machine has different modes? Why not just take one type of reading.

    Thanks for all the info and advice. The nurse said not to check my levels at home, so I've not been doing that. Re diet, I'm using two meal replacement shakes and a meat and vegetables/salad. I find the shakes more straightforward at the moment.
