Do you feel that diabetes has ruined your life ?

I became diabetic nearly a year ago through illness. It sucks being diabetic but just accepted it and got on with it. I'm on the libre now and it's taught me alot about my diabetes. I eat what I want I don't follow a diet I just limit my intake of rubbish food and take more insulin.

You could try eating a jam sandwich if you find the jelly babies to sweet. I agree with resurgam, you should call 111 for advice.

    Type 1 Let’s talk hair!

Hi. I was diagnosed T1 in March last year due to pancreatitis. My hair went really thin and was falling out. I was in hospital for 4 months on numerous antibiotics and I thought it was that. So maybe mine was falling out due to just being diabetic???

I use 25 units of tresiba in my stomach. Sometimes I get a lump but I think it's because the needle hasn't Pierced under the skin, but it's gone within 30 seconds and nothing to worry about.

    Libre

Thank you for the comment. I'm a carer and I think that I'll find it suitable when I go house to house. It will save me from getting the kit out and testing every two hours.

    Higher sugars when fasting

I'm under the impression that your body does produce higher glucose/sugar levels even tho you don't eat. I wasn't eating when I was in hospital and my levels were up in the 20s. But I thought it was just my medication.

    Libre

Thank you for that. I thought before how can I be type1 but the nurses on my ward and the diabetic center nurses have only mentioned T1. I will mention when I see them on the 3rd January about being 3c.

    Libre

Hi all. I was diagnosed with T1 in March due to pancreatitis. In January I will be training for the libre patch for testing blood glucose levels. I was just wondering if anyone on here has or is using this format of testing and is it as accurate. Thanks craig.
