I've just found out that my Eye screening appointment has been booked for February 2013, which is 13 months after i've been diagnosed. I take it from the above posts that this isn't normal?

It does say on the metformin leaflet to stop taking metformin several days before your CT scan and 2 days after - which I did and my levels went up to 11.

I was diagnosed in January and I'm on 4 x 500mg per day too. I hadn't found anyone else on that much either so its nice to know i'm not the only one. But can anyone tell me why they would put you on 4 a day?

Hi all, My experience was very similar to everyone here. Probably for another forum, however after finding a lump in my testes and going to the GP, which in turn led to an appointment with a consultant, who then tells you you've got cancer - well you know what that's like it caused my blood...

September 2011 I was 18 stone. Diagnosed with diabetes in January 2012 Now 13.5 stone and i'm 6'3" tall. Im pretty pleased with that. gone down from a 41 inch waist to 36.

When you get diagnosed with something like cancer they start testing you for almost everything. You are not the only one, I got diagnosed with testicular cancer in January and three weeks later with Type2 diabetes, unlike you I've not had to have chemo (so far).
