Reversing Diabetes with a vegan, low-fat diet

Thanks, I didn’t even realize it was an old post! Lol. I’m checking those links now. I find that everyone is so helpful and caring on this site. Thank you so much for directing me to the vegan area and the supplements info. I want to do everything I can to stay healthy and not do any more...

Reversing Diabetes with a vegan, low-fat diet

The studies show great promise but, yes, we need to be able to stick to it forever. I think if a person can do LCHF for awhile and when they’ve had enough maybe switch it up and go vegan, or follow the standard diabetic diet. I’m new to all of this and I’m already looking for different ways...

    Barnard vegan diet

I’m also trying vegan after LCHF, I’m on day 2 only, so I’m not able to lend too much of my experience yet. Excercise really help me, and this morning I had steel cut oatmeal, not the flake oatmeal. I feel ok but haven’t taken my BG reading yet. I fell like I don’t trust eating carbs, lol. But...

Struggling to find the motivation to look after myself.

Sounds like you might be needing some love, [emoji173]️. The forum is great for venting and for realizing that we’re not alone in whatever we’re dealing with . Diabetes is not an easy thing to cope with. Sometimes it’s hard to find our way. Good luck,

    Fasting

I’ve done fasting for just over a year, 16:8. Since being diagnosed 8 weeks ago, my BG goes high if I don’t eat, how do you all do it without your BG shooting up? Are you on Metformin? I just diet controlled, LCHF.

    Complex Carbohydrate intolerance(CCI)

Could your tummy troubles possibly be gluten allergy or intolerance? Having a test meter has helped me get my BG under control in under a week. It’s an absolutely beneficial, and in my opinion, necessary tool.

Type 2 Change in meal times? LCHF/STRESSES

Thank you so much for clearing this up for me. I thought that the diabetic clinic nurse might put me on meds or insulin if I had higher BG levels on some days. Now I’m understanding that it’s normal for some people. Tonight I’m going to sleep well!

Type 2 Change in meal times? LCHF/STRESSES

Thank you for commenting on this, so are you saying that people usually just let their morning value be high, as long as they have the rest of the day under control? Since I’m new at this I don’t know what to do. My mind just keeps racing back to the fact that I’m going to ruin my arteries, my...

Type 2 Change in meal times? LCHF/STRESSES

Hi Pinkorchid, Yes, my values tend to be higher in the morning before eating, but most times if I eat a snack late at night ( say midnight), then get up at 5:30am, I can catch it before it rises too much. Usually in the 6-7 range. Some mornings though, it’ll go up into the 7.2, to the 7.6...

Laser treatment advice? 1st treatment on wednesday and i'm really scared

That’s great, I’m so glad everything went well and it wasn’t too bad or painful. It’s so true that the nerves we get before a procedure are usually the worst part of the treatment. Good going, I’m glad it’s done and you can try to focus on other things now.

Laser treatment advice? 1st treatment on wednesday and i'm really scared

Wishing you the best, anyone would be scared to have this done, that’s totally expected. Remember that the medical team does this many times a day, everyday, you’ll be in good hands. Please let us know how it goes. Big hugs, I’ll be thinking of you.
