    Freestyle Libre Sensor: highly inaccurate??

After trying 3 Libre Sensors, I am done with it: * First sensor was overestimating glucose levels quite significantly * Second sensor was underestimating most of the time * Last sensor was overestimating again (sometimes up to 3 MMol/L) and fell off after 10 days anyway My own conclusion...

    Blood glucose meters.

If you are going to test yourself several times a day (and therefore use hundreds of test strips), the SD codefree device you have bought would be the cheapest in the long run. However, it's the most basic device, test strips require more blood, and personal experience is that quite a few can be...

    Blood glucose meters.

Having tried the SD codefree device and TEE2, I wasted quite a few strips when not enough blood was applied. The Contour One Next allows for more blood to be applied if required. I believe the TEE2 test strips are pretty much the same price as the SD Codefree one, so why pay £13 for the...

    Blood glucose meters.

You paid £13 for something you could have received...for free. Search for TEE2 for instance, and you can get a similar kit (including device, lancets, 10 test strips, case) for free. Also, buying 100 lancets was probably overkill. Many people keep the same lancet for days or weeks, without...

    Freestyle Libre Sensor: highly inaccurate??

Maybe they therefore prioritise people who ask for a replacement the first time...

    Just got my tee2+

Do you mean a TEE2 blood monitor? I haven't heard of a TEE2+... It's a good device, but if you don't apply enough blood to the test strips, you will just waste those. I started with a TEE2 device myself, but have switched since to a Contour Next One device. You can get one (full kit...

    Freestyle Libre Sensor: highly inaccurate??

I called them on a Monday morning, and I received the replacement on the next day, Tuesday. At the same time, their website was indicating some delays in shipments, so I can only assume they set some stock aside for replacements. Is it the first time you ask for a replacement?

    Freestyle Libre Sensor: highly inaccurate??

CS will see if it's 15% above or lower than measurements taken with a blood tester.

    Freestyle Libre Sensor: highly inaccurate??

It's more like testerS... I have checked several times against various blood testers. They all agreed with their readings within maybe 0.3 mmol/L, while the Libre was 1.5 above or below. I am done with the Libre, and will wait for a new version or competitor ones.

    How long to reverse?

Hi, At the end of January 2018, my doctor ordered some blood tests: the spot blood sugar test was quite high (8.5 mmol/L) about 45 min after a relatively low carb breakfast. The HbA1c result was at the top of prediabetes too. Blood pressure was quite high too. She advised that I was becoming...

    Freestyle Libre Sensor: highly inaccurate??

My second sensor has expired today, after 14 days. Last measurement provided was 4.9 while my blood tester gave 6.3. First sensor was all over the place, always reporting much higher levels. This second sensor has been consistently reporting lower numbers, by at least 1mmol/L. Looks like I...

    Freestyle Libre Sensor: highly inaccurate??

My point was that those devices are advertised to measure glucose levels, not some other unit. Yes, I have also considered the delay between a blood test, and the Libre reading, which could be 15-20 minutes behind, but that didn't make much difference most of the time, in term of understanding...

    Freestyle Libre Sensor: highly inaccurate??

My first sensor was providing readings all over the place, in term of values and also trends. I emailed Abbot but they never replied. I then called, and spoke to someone fairly quickly. A set of three readings between the Libre and a blood tester was enough to show that the difference was more...

The Libre, am I missing the point?

Based on my own experience and after reading a lot about the Libre: Quite a large proportion of sensors are just faulty (it could be up to 20-30%) Abbots replaces those free of charge very quickly after a phone call (replacement received next day, despite low stock) Body takes time to get used...

    Freestyle Libre Sensor: highly inaccurate??

In term of comparing readings from blood glucose testers and the Libre readings, I have 3 blood glucose testers, so comparisons haven't been done with just one device. The usual justification is: "the Libre is measuring different fluids, not blood glucose etc, so therefore readings can't be...

    Freestyle Libre Sensor: highly inaccurate??

11 sensors faulty out of 31. There is clearly an issue. To be honest, if it's that unreliable, I don't even know why the NHS would ever consider funding this. Sounds like adding calibration from blood samples from time to time would bring accuracy to the device, so I don't understand why Abbott...

    Freestyle Libre Sensor: highly inaccurate??

Yes, when comparing the Libre readings to a blood monitor, I always consider the delay with the Libre. It should take 10/15 min longer on the Libre to reach the same blood sugar reading.

    Freestyle Libre Sensor: highly inaccurate??

I have borderline type 2, so I am indeed trying to identify what sort of meal/food is triggering a spike in blood sugar, what food to avoid etc. I think the Libre would be useful to show a trend/graph (even if we put aside the actual units/measures), but I am not sure my current sensor can be...
