Bah Humbug = disgust or disbelief, but it can also mean sham, deceitful, trickery, which I didn't have a clue about! Then I saw it could be a striped hard candy!!!!! Which turns out that's a UK and few other countries name for striped candy!!! In the US we just call it striped peppermint candy...

The NPH I know of here still have to be rolled to gently mix. They just aren't as bad as the previous generation ones. It's interesting to note that the new insulins like Lantus, Humalog, Novalog should not be mixed/rolled/shaken as any kind of shaking can degrade them faster. And Humalog...

DP is usually one thing that a pump is highly recommended for! There's just no good way to control it otherwise except waking up and injecting a dose. At least they recognize that's not the best option!

@becca59 I am a night owl but I have the same issue. My lightest settings in my pump settings are after 4pm and the lowest after 11pm. Then at around 3 a slight boost and at 4 a bigger boost and even bigger boost at 5 am for only an hour. But I will all of a sudden randomly for anywhere from...

I really need to control the impulse of my BG levels going higher than I think they should, take some correction insulin, then decide to get on my exercise bike. I know if I don't do anything I can stay higher for too long for my liking, but a correction dose and the bike always means eating...

My husband (and customers when I had the store too) had relief from using a product called Nature's Lining from LaneInnovative. It's a chewable tablet. My husband was waking up in the middle of the night choking from reflux and now he doesn't have any issues although he still can't eat things...

You will get more replies if you start a new thread. Sometimes it is a hidden infection, sometimes it is sudden inactivity, sometimes it is what you ate the day before. A high fat day and I will require more insulin the next day because it causes insulin resistance. It even can be you were...

The first time I felt so adrift! I was so used to being able to look constantly at my numbers and getting alerts when needed. I kept testing and worrying about it even though I survived fine before a CGM, I was just so used to having one! Because of that I purposely will go all day without...

For some reason it is bugging me, lately my doctors are using the term for my endo as the person who manages my diabetes. No one manages my diabetes but me lol, she just write the prescriptions I need and orders bloodwork. She herself has said she would never tell a person with 96% TIR what to...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

I hate that too! It feels like you are signing your life unknowingly away with all the terms and conditions listed on so many things.

I don't think I ever have. But it could make sense. If you have an infection or sick you usually use more and have higher sugars and they get better as you get over it, so the antibiotics might be helping you get better and hence bringing down blood sugar levels? More sensitive to insulin? I...

And as soon as you decide to make that correction, 10 minutes later you start to drop and now you know you should have waited just a little longer.

Joslyn did some research on continued production of insulin in long term Type 1's. They briefly mention it on this page, hit the plus sign under results and it talks about it. https://joslin.org/research/medalist-program-study

Lows all night last night. Periodically this happens to me and can happen for 1 night or 3 nights in a row. Tonight at the first sign of a drop I will adjust my basal to 75% less for 4-6 hours. Exercise normal, eating time normal.I don't know why I didn't adjust my basal instead of keep getting...
