    Operation and T2

I had to go for my pre-op appointment yesterday and have to go under General Anaesthetic next Friday. I've never had a general before and because I'm only 3 months since T2 diagnosis I'm just wondering if it will effect my BS and HBA1c. I've only just had my HBA1c which I'm very happy that they...

    Proud of myself!!

Thanks Emma, Its been a tough 3 months and the medication has given me a lot of horrid side effects but we'll worth it now my sugars have come down so much. Low carb and cutting out sugars did it for me along with Trulicity, metformin and Jardiance. I've been told I've got to stay on all the...

Thanks very much @Prem51. That is disappointing hearing we will always be classed as diabetic!! I know I have a long long way to go but I'm so pleased I've managed to get the BS down in 3 months. Thanks for your advise :-)

    Proud of myself!!

Hi all, Although I don't often write on here but I read all your discussions and really appreciate all your advise you give. I was diagnosed type 2 on the 4th June with a shock HBA1c reading of 107. I was straight away put on metformin and Jardiance and 6 weeks later had another blood test...

    Trulicity Injections

Hi Jane, That's good to know that the side effects settle down after a week as it's horrendous. It seems to have helped bring my BS down which is great. Are you on any other medication? I'm on Metormin 1000mg slow release and Jardiance once a day. I will chat with you some more later but...

    Trulicity Injections

Hiya Janemarie71, I had my first Trulicity injection last Thurs so due for my second one tomorrow. Unfortunately for me it gave me horrendous tummy cramps that first night and since then have felt constantly sick with no appetite. I've also stopped looking weight and think it's to do with my...

    Bean Burgers

Thanks for all your advise. I tested my bloods again before I went to bed and they were down to 6.2 from 7.0 2 hrs after eating them. My Hubbie made lots so will have them again soon and will check my bloods every hour after eating them. He wrapped them in a big lettuce leaf with homemade...

    Bean Burgers

Evening all, My Hubbie made some delicious bean burgers for dinner made with the following ingredients: Chickpeas, kidney beans, cashew nuts, onion, tahini, grated carrot and coriander. They were yummy and was worried that they might spike me but my BS only went up 1.3 Two hours after eating...

    Trulicity Advise

Morning everyone ( actually, is nearly 12.30pm ), I am extremely poorly atm and still laying in bed. I was diagnosed with T2 6 weeks ago and have found all your advise so far very encouraging. I'm still confused with a lot of things but over time I'm sure I will learn what everything means...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Thank you @ianpspurs. It certainly is a rollercoaster. I see my DN next week and think she is going to start me on the weight loss pen to inject once a week. I've been on Metormin 2000mg which has made me feel awful so she's halved the dose and feeling less sick now. I'm also on Jardiance once...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

6.2 at 8.45am this morning. Same as you Ally, wish I could loose some weight as it's getting me down now. I was diagnosed with T2 6 weeks ago and lost 1.4 stone in 3 weeks and nothing since and I've cut right down on so many foods. Just don't understand!!

    Confused

Thank you Alexandra, I don't see my Nurse for another month although she has said I can call her anytime. I'm going to try all your advise for a week starting tomorrow and see if it works. These are my bloods today : Fasting : 6.8 2 hrs After breakfast : 8.8 Before lunch : 6.5 2 hrs after...

    Confused

Thank you Resurgam, I've just been shopping and bought eggs and bacon to have for breakfast. Do you think this will be better than having my Granola? For a 40g serving of Granola it is only 20.8g of carbs so I thought it was ok to have that as my Nurse has told me to have 250g of carbs a day.

    Confused

That is all really helpful advise. Thank you so much Sally. I shall definitely try those foods you have mentioned. I'm on 2000mg of slow release Metformin and Jardiance once a day. I've got at least another 3.5 stone still to loose. I'm going to try higher fat foods and less carb. Thanks again x...

    Confused

Thank you Sally. I'm finding it tricky with drinks as I used to only drink Nesquick chocolate shake/hot chocolate in the morning and evening and Apple juice and coke through the day. I absolutely despise drinking water so I've changed to drinking coke zero and other zero sugar fizzy drinks. This...
