    Lowered my hba1c

I switched to Levemir split over 2 injections a day. I've managed to lower my hba1c from 62 last July down to 49 last week. That just over 2 months on the new regime. So hopefully the next will be even better.

Baby 1 induced at 34 weeks, unclear plan from obstetrics for second??

Each case is different just because you were induced early with your first doesn't mean you will need to with your second. If your bloods are ok and baby is ok why rush them out? I was induced at 38 weeks with my first because it was the done thing. With my second the on asked why? He was...

    Severley Visually Impaired Diabetic

I can't remember where I saw it. Might have been on the shop on the diabetes.co.uk website or diabetes.org You can get a device that fits onto the end of your pen that works as a reminder for when you last took your insulin if I remember correctly it was a flat electronic display. Would this be...

    Teen With Type 1

He's 16 and got hormones like any other teenager and then his diabetes on top. It's a lot to deal with. Employers have a duty of care. I've always been open with my employers and manager even my karate instructor. Everyone has been understanding and people ask question so they have an...

    Superdrug New Pricing

I mind the days when you had to buy a box of syringes. The wholesaler needs to work to get the product cheaper. Maybe more people will use it.

    Changing From Lantus To Levemir

I should say that the dr I saw at the end of the clinic running late and tired. When I said I have a home made granola she jumped on the sugar content. Even though I only use 5 tablespoons per batch which works out at 2.5 to 3ml of maple syrup per serving as far as they were concerned it was a...

    Changing From Lantus To Levemir

The karate example was just this weeks example. I was on holiday and travelling at silly times so was up at 2 and 4 in the morning and good blood sugars. Even speaking to the diabetic nurse several months ago suggested cutting down my Lantus to get rid of the morning highs. It's just recently...

    Police Cells And No Insulin.

That is shocking. Ignorance about what a condition is is not an excuse diabetics do not just need some sugar to survive.

    Changing From Lantus To Levemir

Hi Just been to see the diabetic team today. My Hba1c was 58. My before bed bloods are running a bit high and I'm getting the same in the morning. The thing is when I've tested my blood during the night they've been good readings. I even went to bed with a blood of 14.8 (high I know but I'd...
