How many meds are you on?

Several for other conditions, but none for my T2D. Doc wanted to prescribe Metformin but I managed to convince him to give me 3 months to prove I didn't need it. Dropped myself from 76 down to 46 in 3 months, and now I seem to have got the hang of LCHF and fasting, I fully expect to be in...

Well, I have my latest HbA1c results back...

Terrific results, well done. Took me the better part of 3 years to see significant drops in my hba1c, but then bizarrely my G.P. only tests once a year :banghead: so I had no real idea whether what I was doing was helping, so THREE MONTHS is astonishing, and really shows what can be achieved in...

    What's going on here?

Well I never knew that, I certainly wasn't advised to eat 130g carbs daily for 3 days, I just had an appointment letter turn up o_O

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

4.6 @ 08:30 :) I think that's actually a rare day for me where my evening reading of 4.8 ends up higher than my morning, it's usually a tad higher in the AM. Must be the extended fasts I've been doing?

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

An insomnia filled night for me. In bed by 9pm by choice because I was feeling sleepy and dropped right off to sleep, but just kept waking until finally getting up at 04.30. BS @ 4.3.

is it ok to smoke cannabis if you have type 2 diabetes?

Not that I'm doubting the validity of their argument, but I find myself asking why my blood sugars are currently only just into diabetic levels despite heavily vaping . A good friend that I know for 100% fact vapes even more heavily than I do just had blood hbalc of 33, mine was 46. It does...

is it ok to smoke cannabis if you have type 2 diabetes?

Genuinely didn't know that smoking has such an adverse effect on diabetics :banghead: I quit the stinkies around 2011 in favour of electronic vaping, and whilst my meter readings seem to be under what is seen as diabetic, I'm now left wondering if trying to quit altogether might bring it even...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

4.9 at 06.30 this morning, rising to 5.2 by lunchtime. Currently (for the last week) only eating when absolutely necessary and managing an extended intermittent fasting of around 36 hours between meals. I don't think I've EVER had such consistently low readings since my T2D diagnosis around 6...

    Blood Sugar 26 mmol/L

It can be quite daunting and alarming when you first get a diagnosis of Diabetes, but there are plenty of resources available if you are prepared to scour T'internet :) The difficulty is in deciding what is GOOD advice and what needs to be promptly filed in the bin under "useless" or even worse...

    Meter confusion.

Thanks for the reply, no I wasn't getting readings quite this low when I got my 76, they were a tad higher but nowhere near the 9.1 that 76 infers which is why I didn't expect a reading quite that high. I think the issue I have isn't so much the 4.2 reading I saw, as I've dropped weight from...

    Meter confusion.

Hi everyone. A little backstory first methinks :) I'm 52 and a triple stroke survivor, after the NHS gave me sepsis for my 40th Birthday following a gallbladder removal that didn't go quite as they hoped it would. Was diagnosed as T2 about 5 yrs ago but I believe I have a decent understanding...
