    Thank You

A big thank you to the contributors to this site from whom I have learned so much. I am doing well on LCHF and have avoided going back on meds which made me very unwell.

High carb content in diabetic recipes?

I’ve been buying diabetic cookbooks for over 20 years now. The recipes have quite high carb content which I can no longer tolerate. I’m now buying cookbooks for LCHF eating.

HELP! need advice about my father and at a loss

@johnross87 That’s a tough situation. If you think he will agree to testing then buying a testing meter and testing strips might be a good starting point. You’ll find information on this site about when to test. At least that way you can get an idea about what his BSLs are and whether his...

    Type 2 Medication

Gliclazide made me feel very ill within a day or two of starting it at a low dose. Weak, shaky, nauseous, disorientated, very drowsy, rubbery mouth. No hypos. Adequate food. I stopped taking it. I’m very sensitive to meds and I’m now trying LCHF thanks to this site. Good signs so far...

I Did Not Cause My Condition

I’m a skinny type 2 for over 20 years and a healthy eater. I have the genes for types 1 and 2. Not aware of anything I did to trigger diabetes. We are all different but share the struggles.

Taking a couple of days off from Type 2 life

@Ojustaboo I have ME too and I am significantly disabled. It makes managing diabetes very difficult. I am envious of your BGLs after eating carbs. Are you still on meds? If so, do you mind sharing what meds? I am struggling to find something I can tolerate. Best Wishes
