    DVLA and driving licence problems.

Final update! Just got my Licence back now, after a lot of phone call and generally making a nuisance of myself to them. However, it's come back as a 1 year Medical licence. Not the end of the world, but even at the end, I still feel patronised by them regarding my Type 1. Just glad to be...

Another great Qualifying for the Mercedes in China. Bottas unlucky not to get pole. The Ferrari's were off the pace a little, and Verstappen was in the mix too. China is so hard on tyres, so it's shaping up for another great race.

    2018/19 Football Season

I wouldn't say we battered you, just a good, efficient performance from our Lads! Play like you did today, and you will have no trouble bouncing back from the Championship.

    DVLA and driving licence problems.

Update to the Update to the Update! lol Finally got a copy of the original Medical form, and the Email I required via my Doctors, and it's actually made me even more annoyed at the situation. Having read through it all with great care, the reasons for the DVLA revoking my licence just don't...

    DVLA and driving licence problems.

Update to the update! After getting my Doctor and Diabetic Nurse to provide the DVLA with the clarifications and info they said they needed, I have now had a letter from the DVLA now asking for clarification from my Doctor on a new, unrelated point than before!! So frustrating!! They had said...

    Diabetic Retinopathy.

Sorry, another advice thread from me! I'm having a bit of a bad run with things at the moment, especially with my DVLA sagas as mentioned on here. I attended my eye screening about a fortnight ago, and received a letter today basically stating that I have severe, sight threating retinopathy...

It was a great race, and you have to feel a little sorry for Leclerc, ahead all weekend, then let down with mechanical issues. It also looks like the extra point for fastest lap is going to make things interesting too towards the end of the season!

So, Leclerc is on pole for Bahrain, let's just hope that Ferrari let him race, which at this stage of the season they should. Mercedes picked up the pace in qualifying, so were not too far behind - it's got all the making of a great race!

    Type 1 and Statins.

Just to clarify this 100% as there seems to be some confusion going on and the thread is getting a little messy. The type of advice I am looking for is what has been offered here, i.e direction to information sources etc and not direct advice from people as to whether I should or shouldn't take...

    Type 1 and Statins.

That comes across as a bit harsh tbh, I am not 'intent' of doing anything regardless, otherwise I would not have asked on here. What I am intent on doing is getting relevant advice on a subject and making an honest, reasoned decision as an Adult with T1 and the complications that go with such a...

    Type 1 and Statins.

Yes, if I have got this right, my 'bad' cholesterol is at 5.5, where it should be around 4, and non T1 levels are around 3.5. Not 100% of the correct terminology or what scale those figures relate to!

    Type 1 and Statins.

I am probably more a cynic than anything else. I liken it to my line of work, I give advice on a daily basis, but it doesn't mean that there are not more knowledgable people out there, so it never hurts to seek other opinions and advice. Would you elaborate on what your disasterous effects...

    Type 1 and Statins.

The Google comment was more tongue in cheek, as we all know that 'Googling' stuff can give you mixed results! Raised BSL's will definately be something I will monitor. As I said in an earlier post, I have a starting point of now, knowing how I feel and a record of BSL, so any changes to them...

    Type 1 and Statins.

On advice received, if I can get my Cholesterol down to 'normal' levels and not T1 diabetic levels, without any other issues then I see that as a postive result. I genuinely get that a one size fits all approach doesn't work, but, for me, I at least have to give it a chance and closely monitor...

    What needle length...?

That seems to be the opinion that's coming through now, it's just it seems hard to keep up! One minute one size is right, then the next minute it's wrong!

    Type 1 and Statins.

That's cool, and I don't mean to offend. On balance so far, I will follow proffessional advice and monitor accordingly. Short term I feel the benefits may well outweigh the negatives.

    Type 1 and Statins.

That's cool, I don't work weekends! You do come across pretty negative and maybe have some kind of agenda towards them, but I am old enough and ugly enough to take advice, digest it and make a reasoned decision!

    Type 1 and Statins.

Thanks for this, I'll have a good read of all of it. Like I said earlier, the point of this thread was to gain advice and experiences of others. I'll take it all on board, as maybe other will too, and make a decision accordingly!

    Type 1 and Statins.

I haven't watched that video yet due to the device that I am replying on, but I take it he is an expert in the field? What understanding of Statins do you have over that of a Doctor? (not trying to be argumentative, just asking the question) The problem in this case as, I see it, is that I do...

    Units per day

I use approx 120 units a day, split across 2 injections using a Mix insulin and have no need to consider a pump. From talking on here, the key is to what is best for you. If you are in the UK, your employer cannot deny you the right to manage your condition. I get that there are certain jobs...
