    Tiredness after hypos

Hello all, I’m new to this whole diabetes lark having been diagnosed type 1 out of the blue just a month ago. Have started having the odd hypo and then afterwards I crash into a deep sleep. I’m not concerned about the hypos, I know they’re part and parcel of getting everything regulated, and...

Type 1 and going camping on a stag do. Advice needed please

I’m just back from a family festival camping, 3 weeks after my shock diagnosis. A lot of alcohol and food was consumed but I just trucked through it armed with jelly babies, meter, Novorapid and Libre. It doesn’t look like I’ll have a honeymoon period, so I just tried my best to count what I...

    FREESTYLE LIBRE

My understanding is that the Libreview is more for PCs/laptops rather than mobiles. I downloaded the software on my laptop and shared with my clinic from there. I haven’t tried it on my phone on which I just use the app.

Good news for Libre users, I think

My DSN gave me one almost straight away (diagnosed 10 days ago) as I had a lumpectomy on my right side and so can only do finger pricks on LHS.

    Newly diagnosed and reeling

I’m currently carb counting and correcting. They had started me with 2 Bolus with every meal plus the Levemir but it wasn’t working so my Levemir has been increasing, and I’m doing corrective with every meal on top of the Novorapid. But I’m sure it’s different with everyone.[emoji8]

    Newly diagnosed and reeling

Oh I’ve already started to get them @urbanracer but I’ve had 3 years of practice since my BC Dx fighting them off. ‘But you’re not fat’. No, I’ve lost 10kgs because my body was eating itself from the inside out. That shut them up [emoji56]

    Newly diagnosed and reeling

Thank you all for the replies. I popped into work this morning to discuss with my boss and HR and they have been amazing. I’ll probably go back in on Monday to my original 25 hours a week which was what I was on starting there. I work in Finance but do a lot of running around. Either way they’ve...

    Newly diagnosed and reeling

Thank you for your replies. I’m worried about work too as this is now my second week off. I’m not brave enough to go in yet, as I haven’t had a hypo yet and so have no idea how that will feel. Were you working when diagnosed and what time off did you take? My friend had said that normally...

    Newly diagnosed and reeling

Morning all. I was diagnosed last week with type 1 aged 42 and am a complete mess. Apparently I was very unwell but my friend is a diabetic nurse and she called it-even though the GP said it was type 2. 3 days in and out of hospital with BG and ketones going through the roof and bam! Here’s your...
