    Type 1 Carb counting

I think I read somewhere and my nurse told me to try and ear whole grain pasta as these contain complex carbs where white pasta is a simple carb. Whole grain pasta will break the carbs down slower over a period of time where white pasta will act more quickly so you're more likely to have a spike...

Type 2, LADA or Type 1 advice

I just went to the Dr and said I think I may be diabetic, they told me to go to a website (can't remember unfortunately) to book it at the local hospital and a form to take so you t was done on NHS. Turns out I did the right thing. C-peptide, very small amounts of production. GAD about 120...

    Is this normal.

I was diagnosed about 3 weeks ago with type 1, at the time by blood sugars were 27 and have some down to below 10 in a short time. I sometimes get the shakes when I'm not low but when I do have a proper low I don't notice right away. Today I was 3.3 before lunch and didn't feel any different

    Type 1 Blood Tests

Hi all. Need some advice on what things may mean. When I was diagnosed about a month ago, I was put straight in insulin for type 1, and had three blood tests taken C-peptide, which came back with small amounts of insulin, so my body is still producing very little amounts which I was informed...

    Newly Diagnosed

Nurses have diagnosed T1, still waiting for the blood test results back but they are pretty certain as I'm not overweight, (if anything I may be under at the moment) I don't eat too many carbs. In this instance I couldn't say if there was anything different which made my sugars high but it was...

    Newly Diagnosed

Hi all, Is the MySugr app any good? I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago and trying to find something useful and up to date to keep track of historical data (I still have to write it in the book, but I'm not going to keep hold of this forever). At present I'm using the carbs & Cal's app, although it's...

    New Diagnosis

T1 lol. I do however have a close friend who is T2 who is helping me along the way though if we eat together that can be a nightmare as he has to have low carbs where I've been advised to have between 70-80g per meal due to my job and lifestyle. :)

    New Diagnosis

Thank you all for your words of wisdom. Myself, I have a get up and go attitude, diabetes is just a minor inconvenience but not something that will hold me back. The only thing I am struggling with is my eyes at present being blurry but after reading through the forum is normal. I've had to...

    New Diagnosis

Hi all, I'm new to this diabetes lifestyle which life has decided to opt me into. I'm a relatively healthy 31 year old male with no family history of diabetes. It all started when I noticed I was drinking more than usual and getting up every morning around 2am and 4am to wee and also drink...
