Type 1 Blood Tests

Hi all.
Need some advice on what things may mean.

When I was diagnosed about a month ago, I was put straight in insulin for type 1, and had three blood tests taken

C-peptide, which came back with small amounts of insulin, so my body is still producing very little amounts which I was informed is normal for a new Diagnosis.

GAD came back at 110 - I was advised this was higher than the normal range but could be worse, but the fact these are present indicates type 1.

However there was another test they did (can't remember what they said it was, ac2 or something) which they said was negative and needs to be looked at, not entirely sure as I wasn't told what this means or doesn't mean except they may still go on the GAD results.

Can someone enlighten me if they think they have an idea as I'm new to this and straight over my head.

Ask your surgery to email you the results.
My guess is that it was the IA2 antibodies. There are a number of antibodies that can be present (see the article below). The low c-peptide on diagnosis and GAD-positive antibodies indicate an immune system response, which supports that you're type 1.
I'm negative for both GAD and IA2 antibodies. Either one, or both positive indicates an immune response.
