    Worry for 2nd HbA1c

Since been diagnosed in June my eating habits have improved and lost 1.5 stone. However, I feel I may have undone all my hard work over the last three weeks. I went on two self-catering caravan hols and fell off the band wagon. Had sugary treats and more alcohol than usual. Its hasn’t helped...

Have you been told not to test your blood sugars?

I've been told by my diabetic nurse as I'm type 2 and not on a medication that causes Hypos I should not be testing. She also thinks doctors will take prescription off me for lancets/strips. Haven't tried to put in a repeat prescription yet. Must admit I haven't been testing much as don't want...

    Carbohydrates as an addiction

    Carbohydrates as an addiction

    Low carb Scone recipe

Well my second attempt was better when using ground almonds. Made peanut butter scones. I don't think I will use coconut flour anymore though as the coconut taste overpowers the recipe. I will keep on baking! its definitely an art to bake without flour!

    Low carb Scone recipe

Any good low carb scone recipes that people have tried and tested? Tried a cheesy scone one from blood sugar diet book but so much coconut flour tasted like a macaroon. I'm looking forward to trying out low carb baking but not sure I've got the knack yet!
