Hi EMMA I’m not sure exactly on this forum either! How long have you had type 2? It’s so hard with the carbs! I have found some high protein bread in Tesco and some low carb whole meal bread in Morisons , which is half the carbs of normal bread and it tastes nice! I find that exercise really...

    Alogliptin

Hi Emmar I have recently started on Alogliptin/ Vipedia 6.25mg , the smallest dose and so far apart from the odd nose pain ( at the start), I have had no other issues. I try and limit my carbs and have found that a high protein bread seems to be reducing the spikes . I have been on just one...

Hi I think if you are on metformin or any diabetes medication, you should be able to get a Medical Exemption certificate from your GP. This entitles you to free prescriptions. You might get the strips for free.Worth asking. Regards Karen

I was diagnosed at 54 in 2013. I managed with weight loss and diet and exercise to get it to 48 for around 4 years but the last...

Hi all my name is Karen. I was diagnosed with type 2 about 6 years ago. I have managed to control my blood sugar with diet and exercise. Unfortunately the last year or so my Hba1c has maintained at 59 so our Diabetes Nurse at the surgery insisted I take some kind of medication. I went and paid a...
