I want to change my current meds (what are my chances)

Just to note on the Ozempic, I have a lot going on in my life and I've asked for additional help. I was referred to Weight Management in the local hospital. They said I would benefit from Ozempic but due to demand and supply they were taking on any new patients, I was however put on oral...

    Help, Advice and Assurance

Hello all, It's been a little while. As some may remember, I'm going through a hard time (Divorce, homeless etc) and trying to sort my life around. For about 10 months now I've not really watched what I've eaten etc and that's all on me. Two days ago I checked my blood sugars for the first...

2nd Review - Depression and High Blood Pressure

Good afternoon all. I had my blood taken last night for my 2nd review. Those that have seen my posts will know that last Oct, I was proud that I had brought my bloods down to 41 and had lost 3 stone and was feeling proud and great. I was told that by my next review if I carried on I'd be in...

How life and diabetes can change in 14 weeks!

Thanks everyone. My head is still in a mess. The house will be valued next week so at least that is one thing done. We are co-parenting with my little one, 3 days on, 3 days off. I can't change my brain, I know what I need to do, to lose weight, control my diabetes, but I'm self sabotaging...

How life and diabetes can change in 14 weeks!

Hello, I've not posted for a while, had lots going on in the real world. 14 weeks ago, I had my first review (HbA1c - 1st Review at the Docs. | Diabetes Forum • The Global Diabetes Community) where I was elated that my BS had dropped to almost pre-diabetes and how I looked forward to being...

    HbA1c - 1st Review at the Docs.

Hi Ian, If I'm honest, I don't recall the original blood pressure which they diagnosed me with hypertension and resulted in the meds. I was supposed to have gone back after 3-months originally but Covid hit and well, lots of things were cancelled and pushed back. But since I went back the...

    HbA1c - 1st Review at the Docs.

I posted the other day how I was going for my review today after having my bloods taken last week. I was diagnosed around March last year, I came here, got loads of help and started off well. Lockdown hit, the world turned to poop, life at home was hard and I stopped monitoring and returned to...

Hb1AC - First appointment since diagnosis.

Had my bloods done last week, my blood pressure has been high of late so tested my kidneys etc for my BP meds to be increased. Have my diabetic review Thursday. It's weird, my BP has never been high, but for some reason of late it is. Since July, I've been pretty good, I've lost just over 3st...

    Lacking motivation

Hey @LeeSouth, I was/am in the same kind of boat as yourself. Was diagnosed over a year ago, did great (lost 3 stone) then boom lockdown/depression for the majority of the year. I've just (this July) gave myself a kick up the bum to get back into gear. I am a big chap and I am basically on a...

    ????

I find that I sometimes need to wash my hands before testing. I make food for others in my house and that can stay on my fingers and cause my results to not be accurate. Usually a quick wash and dry and I get consistent readings regardless of hand etc.

    Back on track

I am in the same boat buddy. I started back last week and shared it here for the help and support. I lost 5kg this last week (I'm a big chap so always get a good initial loss when I go clean) and my avg blood sugar have been around 7.6 which I'm happy about. Previously this was in double...

Meter has arrived... Understanding readings and what next.

Thanks all. It's been an excellent few days. My sugars have been dropping, a little elevated in the morning (not high) but I know that that is usually the last to get sorted. But today before my team my sugars were 5.5, it's been so long since they been this low!!! It's made me feel elated...

Meter has arrived... Understanding readings and what next.

Almost a year ago since this thread. I started so well, followed low carb diet of approx 20g a day (wasn't too fussed if I was under/slightly over) as I wasn't going crazy. I lost almost 3 stone in about 8 weeks (I'm a big chap so my initial losses are usually high) and I was doing great...

Meter has arrived... Understanding readings and what next.

Thanks everyone. Still testing and I'm getting there I think. My bloods this morning were 11.1, I had porridge oats for breakfasts (sachet with semi skimmed milk) couple of coffees (instant) during the day. My reading before my tea was 6.3 (I didn't have any lunch) . I had chicken casserole...

Meter has arrived... Understanding readings and what next.

Good evening everyone. Today my new cook book arrived and appears packed with information and follows the low-carb diet which I've been advised on my welcome post. I've had a quick read through today and it looks really promising. There are a few other books I'll be looking to order too. My...

    New to Type 2.

Thank you all for your responses and words of wisdom. I can see I have a lot to read through. I ordered my meter today, I went with the Tee2 one which was suggested about. I don't know much about the monitors (yet) but thought this was a good starting point for me. I'm so thankful I found...

    New to Type 2.

Good Evening, I hope everyone is safe and well. First time here and first time posting. I'm a 41-yr old male. I was diagnosed with Type 2 just before Covid-19 hit. I had a score of 67, this was discovered during a sleep study test for sleep apnea (severe). It was then followed up by my GP...
