Christmas is going to be different for me this year.

Thanks =). Yeah I always look at the back of packets and when someone offers to cook I have to get involved and ask them where the label of the carbs is at. I've got the carbs and cals book which is very handy but sometimes it's a guess. I make lovely mash potatoes but it's hard to k ow the...

Christmas is going to be different for me this year.

So now I am 100% focused on blood sugar control. My hbA1c has gone from 99 in February to 53 in October. Probably going to hit 40s come January. Never had Christmas where I carb count before and kinda worried. I don't eat junk food anymore, not for 3 months anyway. Doubt I'll touch the...

    Cheese rising blood sugar.

Thabk you =). Yeah my bloods tend to rise with protein. For example I had a plain omelette in the evening and was fine for 2 hours (5.5) but 4th hour started to rise and hit 9.0. So from now on going to take a unit or so depending how many grams of protein there is. Thank you for the feedback =).

    Cheese rising blood sugar.

So I've been switched to Tresiba and have far better control over Lantus. No continuous drops during sleeping and the the first time today I actually had a flat decent line. No sudden drops or sudden rise. Ratios worked perfect and even though there was a small drop (3.8) in the morning because...

I've got the Libre Blues ....

Had 2 sensors read lower than they actually are. I have more muscle on my arms but found that it works best in the right spot. I tend to feel the back of my arm like the instructions indicate and feel for the most fatty area. But Abbot are decent when it comes to replace them. Phone scans are...

Been switched from Lantus to Tresiba. Need help.

Noticed that haha. Was like nah.. my all-star pro pen looks better then noticed the digital dial thing on the base of the dial and was like "yup.. this is now my favourite pen" =).

Been switched from Lantus to Tresiba. Need help.

Thank you =). Gonna try it out on Monday. Traveling tomorrow so want to be at home when I make the switch to be safe. They gave me a novapen 5 to use with the Tresiba but have me prefilled pens so my gp said to use the disposable pens first then so can use the cartridges later.

Been switched from Lantus to Tresiba. Need help.

Yes =). Thank you. My lantus would wear off before I was due the next dose and would always rise before bed to 10-11 and drop in the night as I sleep to as low as 4. Heard Tresiba keeps it flat line and even though it lasts 36 hours is it still one injection per day at the same time? I'm...

Been switched from Lantus to Tresiba. Need help.

Hey beautiful people. So my diabetic team recommended me to switch from Lantus to Tresiba since my Lantus wasn't working the full 24 hours. Received the Tresiba insulin today but still confused. My diabetic team didn't explain how many units I need to inject. I normally inject 17 units of...

Not sure if I was borderline hypo or not.

I sometimes do find it better when I have half a unit. Like rounding it up so if I had 60g of carbs I have 9 units but sometimes it doesn't work out. I found delaying my rapid right before I eat or after when I eat wholegrains seems better for me. I always end up in a hypo eating wholegrain...

Not sure if I was borderline hypo or not.

Think it's tresiba I'm going on not 100% sure. My friend made the switch last year and said It's given him far more control. This Friday I should be on it so fingers crossed =).

Not sure if I was borderline hypo or not.

Well I was considering moving my basal from 10pm to 6-8pm. My bloods always tend to fall before bed or during sleep regardless of basal dosage. When I was on 16 units I was seeing more unstable pre and post meal readings. Which ment I needed far more correction doses as after 3-4 hours my bloods...

Not sure if I was borderline hypo or not.

So been very busy and adamant to get my levels tightly locked. Yesterday I increased my basal to 17 units of lantus instead of 16 units. All yesterday bloods were at 4-6 pre meal and post meal 8-9. After 4 hours(post meal) my bloods went back to 5 ish. Woke up not long ago, checked my libre and...

    What do you think?

Not 100% sure in how it works. I don't really sweat to be honest and saw this device foe the first time and made me stop and think for a second. Hopefully someone who sees this post has used it and can give some feed back but it's definitly interesting =o.

    What do you think?

Always see some bizzare ways to test your glucose readings and come across this device in my ads. Not sure if it's legit or not but with technology these days anything seems possible. Apparently you can wear one of their watches and it does the same. Thoughts? Think I'd rather do finger pricks...

Would they let me have a dexcom?

I always double check with my blood monitor and I know the libre lags 15 minutes behind. I take the trend arrows with a pinch of salt because a lot of the times I can be 5.5 and falling but my machine reads 6.4 and I don't treat the fall and it works out fine anyway. I only use the libre as a...

Would they let me have a dexcom?

Yeah =(. Just trying to find a day when it's straight line or not as much jumping or falling spikes. It's not too bad but in the morning my bloods rise fast when I get out of bed so have to take 3 units of rapid. Bloods sit at 5-6 when I wake up and jump to 8 within 15 minutes of waking. Don't...

Would they let me have a dexcom?

I always double check my hypos on my bg machine. Most times it reads a 3.2 on the libre but it's 4.6 or 5 on my machine but my issue is that I can be in a hypo during the day, no symptoms, scan it's 3.1 and machine actually does read 4.1 and then I know I'm actually going into a hypo. I have no...

Would they let me have a dexcom?

Next year hmm. Will everyone who's currently on the libre 1 be entitled to upgrade when it becomes available? Might be good to go on that. Thank you =)
