    Ypsopump issues

Hi, Has anyone who uses Ypsopump had issues with the mylife app and Android phone? (I think IOS is also not working) They have had an update that has rendered the app useless. (This reminds me of the Libre update fiasco). The app just won't sync. Combine this with the mass shortage of...

    Netflix

Apparently, shows don't get past 2 or 3 seasons because they get more expensive to make. And also when Netflix makes a show, it stays on Netflix and doesn't make money by being sold on usually... I normally find something to watch on there, and I like a range of stuff, like... Ratched Queens...

Ypsomed Pump - Anyone using this?

Hi, I've had a couple of failures with the cannulas, I've been using the 6mm soft cannula, and I've had them come unstuck, so I've started using skin tac which has held them well. I've also 2 of them not insert at 90°, and that was probably more user error, but I'm learning. The rotating...

Ypsomed Pump - Anyone using this?

Hi, I've been using the ypsopump for a couple of months now, unfortunately I came from MDI's to the pump, so I have no reference to compare. From a perspective of using only the ypsopump, I have been really impressed by the customer service. The pump itself is easy to navigate, and the app is...

    novorapid or humalog

May I ask did you stop the Humalog and start the NovoRapid in one go? Hi @PhilReed Yes I did. I began using the Novorapid as soon as I received it, and didn't use the Humalog again. I hope you get this all sorted soon.

    novorapid or humalog

Hi, I went from Humalog to Novorapid, using pens initially while I got used to it, now using the Novorapid in ypsopump. I have found the Novorapid takes a bit longer to peak, usually about an 1¾ hours. Ratios seemed to be similar, whilst I was using the NovoPen I found the battery was going flat...

    Libre 2 v Libre 1

Hi @wd1 I have also moved from Libre to Libre 2 recently, I use android (Samsung galaxy S8) to scan, and I have more scan errors using Libre 2. Occasionally I get the 10 minute error, but often I get the failed to scan tone telling me to try again, and on the 4th or 5th error tone, the reading...

    FreeStyle Libre2

Hi, When I was instructed on use I was told that the applicator and the sensor go in the sharps bin (see picture). As far as I know the other plastic containers are not recyclable. Cardboard goes in the recycling bin. You'd think that Abbot would be able to reuse part of the packaging, I...

    Upgrading to Libre 2 benefits

Hi, I've come to the end of using Libre (1), and will be starting Libre 2 tomorrow. Has anyone noticed a sudden change with the Libre Link app? It happened midway through the sensors 2 week period, the scan sounds changed, and every time I scan it has a 30% success rate, the menu also changed to...

Has waiting after insulin helped with your blood sugars?

Hi @Ian zero, Dr Michael Mosley did a program on the TV about this, a Google search should give some other information. We now do this to the family meal, so hopefully we all benefit from it. We use wholemeal pasta, cook as normal, then rapidly cool it, we usually drain the hot water, then...

Has waiting after insulin helped with your blood sugars?

I do the rapidly cool, then reheat pasta trick which takes the spike off of pasta (for me). I split my doses (often 3 to 4 times) normally when I have a protein heavy meal. And I'll also split my dose in a restaurant, this is simply because I don't know how long the food will be, or the portion...

Has waiting after insulin helped with your blood sugars?

I'm a 15 minute pre-boluser normally, I tend to vary the time depending on my BS at that time. This tends to work most of the time for me.

    strange myths about diabetes

I cut my own toenails, and I've never been advised not to. Although I have been told that I can get them done if I want. Thinking about my feet, I guess I subconsciously look after them, I don't wander around bare foot, when in the river or sea I'll wear rubber soled shoes. I treat cracked...

    strange myths about diabetes

I always thought it is preferred to have them cut professionally, to prevent ingrowing toenails, and not to damage the fleshy side nail bits?

    Upgrading to Libre 2 benefits

Hi, thanks @In Response This all sounds encouraging, to clarify, does the oop2 app work alongside xDrip+? As with many things, I get settled with a system, and change makes me a little nervous.

    Upgrading to Libre 2 benefits

Hello, I currently use libre (1) with miaomiao (2) and use XDrip, I initially scan with the reader, then use my Samsung S8 to scan; this set up seems to tick all of the boxes at the moment, but it can be a bit of a faff on sensor day, and charging the miaomiao has increased to once every 5 days...

How to get a Half unit pen

Hi, The NovoPen Echo does deliver ½ units. The only way I would be able to use half units for my Humalog would be to use a junior pen, so this may be a similar issue for other insulins? Why do manufacturers stop producing half unit pens?

    Libre + MM1 + smartwatch + xdrip

Hi @pampy87 Sorry I don't know for sure the answer, however, I'm an xdrip user with miao miao, and I've found the Facebook xdrip group really helpful.
