    Type 2 Life

@Liam1955 Thanks for the encouragement , I'm going to give the ten week program here a try. There seems to be a consensus here that low carb is the way to go. First I've got to kick my chocolate addiction. I'm going cold turkey this week.

    Type 2 Life

Back again. I well and truly fell of the wagon for the two years. A bit despondent but I'll have to get over it. BG level 9.0 . Have put on 10 kilos in the last years. Feeling a bit sorry for myself. Going to try the 10 week low carb program. Wish me luck.

    £12 for a Dr's letter to join a gym!!!!

I dunno it seems to be counter productive to charge people for something that is generally accepted as being good for your long term health. I dont know about the NHS as I live in the republic of Ireland so I have to pay for my GP/Nurse visits cos i earn more than subsistance. Having said...

    blood tests today

@claymic, if you have been taking care yourself it will come down. Sometimes the stress of worrying about it can be worse than the results. I was the same a a month ago and it dropped down to "normal" range. Felt a bit silly afterwards myself but the fact you are watching this closely...

Can I plan for a Kid?

There are millions of diabetics that have children. Talk to your wife and your doctor about your concerns. Mostly talk to your wife, its easy to get overwhelmed after diagnosis and fear the worst. Theres life a after diagnosis and for many of us its pretty good.

Don't involve yourself in the blame game.

@Camilla Well said, guilt is terribly destructive and does not help. You have to do what you can to improve your own condition.

Everyone has good and bad days. I know after I was first diagnosed I was very angry and upset. However a few months on I've made my peace with it mostly. Okay there are still days where I rail against it because of the changes I've had to make and resent its intrusion into my life. Everyone...
