It’s not unreasonable for the centre to want to know the levels. As @Jodes 7 says the centre have a duty of care to her and would get into trouble if something happened and they hadn’t been aware of the possibility of a hypo or hyper.

Unfortunately it still spikes his blood sugar. There is an online firm selling low carb sourdough which I like.

I did buy some good good jam for my husband who is prediabetic. He liked it, but I can’t persuade him to use low carb bread, so he ended up having it on normal bread with the expected blood sugar spikes from the bread. I stopped buying it!

It must be something to do with skin type I think. I find the 2+ is much better for sticking than the 2. I used to have to cover the 2 with a patch (I used Tegaderm) to make it stick on the full 14 days. But the 2+ sticks to me very well, without a patch I haven’t lost a single one.

The finger tip device is the most accurate. That’s a nice flat line overnight and looks as if it’s likely to be between five and six (based on your comment above) which is fine.

6.2 for me this morning. @dogslife it might help to attach your new libre the day before you need to activate it. That allows it time to “settle” on your skin and any local effects of the sensor going in to subside. A lot of people on here then find it is more accurate from when you activate...

What was your recent HbA1c? Your earlier HbA1c was just on the cusp of prediabetes, and given a margin of error with the tests could well be considered normal. Do you test before and 2 hours after your meals to see how they are affecting your blood sugar? The test levels you quote seem fine...

Libres are usually available in England on prescription for type 1 diabetes, and for those with type 2 who use both fast and slow acting insulins. Other type 2 s who choose to self fund can do so with an exemption from VAT.

I’ve read studies that say glic doesn’t burn out the pancreas, but I don’t know. It’s entirely possible given how long I was on it. To be honest I’m much happier on insulin, and getting better results.

I had quiche tonight with salad. When it’s really hot I don’t feel like much. I might have cold chicken, tuna mayonnaise, hard boiled eggs and cheese, with salad and maybe some new potatoes or potato salad, or just some nice bread.

I find if I’m out sitting in the sun too long my blood sugar goes up. But if I’m exercising in the sun it can fall very quickly.
