    Metformin usually won’t cause pancreatitis. Typically the injectables like Trulicity or tablets like Jarndice or glickazide will have an increased risk of pancreatitis. These medications will stimulate the pancrease to produce insulin where as metformin works on the liver.

    Hi I have been on glickazide but gone off of it because of severe abdominal pain and nausea I never had problems with hypos while on it but my morning fasting blood sugar was slowly increasing. Most mornings it was between 8 - 9.5

    I am a like breakfast and luch person. Lunch tends to be salad with no dressing. Breakfast depends on blood sugars, typically a bit of yogurt with nuts or fruit, primarily apples. Supper tends to be a bit larger. It iwll depend on wife and my schedule. Usually meat with a veg or salad.

    I take glicazide and because I drive I was told to test before driving or driving more than 2 hours. Today, when I called about rising blood glucose levels, I was challenged as to why I tested so frequently. I know in the USA patients are encouraged to test regularly.
