C peptide tests - fasted or not fasted?

I see - thank you for the explanation. Such a confusing and anxious time waiting to find out what’s going on. Thanks again.

C peptide tests - fasted or not fasted?

I did, and they told me I didn’t need to fast so I didn’t. And now my results are shown on my record as being fasting glucose and fasting c peptide, which obviously they’re not, hence me trying to understand.

C peptide tests - fasted or not fasted?

Thanks for the link. They told me I didn’t need to fast and then took both the c peptide and glucose tests together, so I’m concerned the results aren’t going to be valid ‍♀️

C peptide tests - fasted or not fasted?

Just that really - should c peptide tests be taken after fasting or not? I hope this is the right place to ask! Thanks [emoji4]

    GAD ‘out of range’

Hello! I was diagnosed with diabetes a couple of months ago and my GP did a GAD test because she wasn’t convinced I was Type 2. The results are back but I can’t get a telephone appointment to discuss it with her until the end of the year ([emoji849]). All that the receptionist can tell me is...

    I think I’ve gone into denial…

Thank you so much for your lovely message! I’ve tried chasing my GAD results but was just told to ring back after Christmas if I haven’t heard anything - I’ll be having my next hba1c test before I get the GAD results at this rate!! I haven’t heard of a Libre but I’ll look into it, thank you. Can...

    I think I’ve gone into denial…

Thank you so much for your reply and good advice! No nobody has mentioned a cpeptide test, is that something that diabetics should be tested for? Thank you [emoji4]

    I think I’ve gone into denial…

Hello. I was diagnosed as type 2 recently, it was a complete shock as I don’t have any risk factors. I immediately cut down on carbs and sugars and felt like I’d taken some control. Fast forward a few weeks and I fear I’ve fallen into denial about the diagnosis. It doesn’t feel like it makes...

    Sinocare Safe-Accu 2 - is it accurate?

That’s really reassuring - thank you! My GP and diabetic nurse are adamant I can’t get a monitor on the NHS, it seems to be very inconsistent from what I’ve read on here.

    Sinocare Safe-Accu 2 - is it accurate?

That is super helpful, thank you!! I’ve been aware that I was struggling to get a lot of blood but was assuming that because it did the test it must have been enough! I’ll look into how to get more blood from the lancet - thank you so much!! [emoji4]

    Sinocare Safe-Accu 2 - is it accurate?

Thank you, that’s good to know. So I got diagnosed as T2 4-6 weeks ago with a hba1c of 113, which came as a complete shock. I’ve bought the blood glucose monitor I mentioned above and have been testing when I wake up, before meals and 2 hours after meals and I’m getting a lot of ‘Lo’...

Which monitors do the NHS prescribe?

If you’ve been prescribed a blood glucose monitor from your GP what make is it please? I’ve bought a Sinocare Safe-Accu 2 but am getting very strange readings which are making me question it’s accuracy - I’d like to use an NHS approved one instead but my GP won’t prescribe me one. Thanks!

    Sinocare Safe-Accu 2 - is it accurate?

Hello! [emoji112] I have very recently been diagnosed as T2 and bought a Sinocare Safe-Accu 2 monitor. I’ve been getting some very strange results and I wondered if anybody has any experience of this monitor and knows how accurate it is please? Thank you [emoji4]
