It took me about ten years to get on basal/Lantus and then another seven before I started bolus/Humalog.

I have 15.5 on my IPHONE and it seems to be working perfectly with the Libre2.

I have to agree with you wrt. the disposable pens, especially the Humalog ones, I switched to the refillable type a while back and find that they are much better made, nicer to use, with no dribbling.

Don't be afraid to go on insulin, it really works well, much better than the pills!

If all else fails, don't be afraid of insulin, it works much better than the pills and affords a great deal of flexibility with one's diet.

That's about the same as it would cost, over the counter, here in Canada, in the States it's much much more. It might be expensive to ship as it needs to be kept cool.

Those levels are pretty high, I am surprised she is not on insulin, I bet that would fix it.

I started on Metformin early in my Diabetes Journey over twenty years ago, I had no problems with it for about fifteen years and it worked very well. Eventually I had to come off it due to Lactic Acidosis, (kidney problems). Now I do basal/bolus insulin, Lantus/Humalog, which I really like.
