Best R-Alpha Lipoic Acic (R-ALA) for neuropathy?

I went to the i-herb.com website - it's in the US but it will deliver to the UK and the delivery is very fast eg within a week. I got the KAL R-Lipoic Acid 100mg vegetarian capsules. I've only just started taking it (less than a week) but I've read it's good for nerve pain which I have had for...

Good morning everyone. I'm weighing 15 stone 12 pounds and 6 ounces this morning. I've been weighing just under or around 16 stone for the last couple of weeks though. I've acheived one of my goals to get my weight below 16 stone. My next goal is to keep it under 16 stone for at least four...

16 stone 1 pound. It's steadily going down. The aim is to get it below 16 stone and keep it below that for a good month and then carry on towards the healthy range.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

For my lunch which I'm eating right now, I'm having left over roast gammon (from last night) chopped into a pan of white cabbage, a large spring onion and a yellow portion pot = 44g (from Rosemary Conley) of frozen garden peas sauteed in 30g of butter. I'm not sure what my diabetes health coach...

    Hello - I'm BigKit and I'm prediabetic

and to Blade Runner and Outlier - thanks for the reassurance on the sweet stuff. I need to go for moderation I think instead of 'open the bag/packet and eat the bag/packet' from now on. Cheers all for the welcome and support.

    Hello - I'm BigKit and I'm prediabetic

Wow TriciaWs well done on the weight loss. I'm particularly pleased to read that you can eat full fat yogurt as I can't stand low fat stuff (Belly pork is my favourite) and low fat anything just feels claggy in my mouth.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all, 6.2 when I got up but then I had some water, wiped my finger, squished a bit more red stuff out and tested that and got a straight 6.0. I'm using an old Aviva Accu-check. The strips are recent and in date. I was tempted to see if a third reading of the same lancet site got an even...

    Hello - I'm BigKit and I'm prediabetic

Geordie_P and valann - you'll be pleased to know I've binned the Coke. I tried the zero version of Dr Pepper this afternoon and that was just heartburn in a can, yuck. I'll off those quite happily. I'm recording my food, drinks and activity levels on the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme now...

    Hello - I'm BigKit and I'm prediabetic

Thank you all for replying. VashtiB - I've got an Aviva Accu-check (no coding required) a few years ago and just put a new battery in it the other day. I think I may need to give the care line a ring as there's a consistent error message that won't go away. Thing is I don't know what level of...

    Hello - I'm BigKit and I'm prediabetic

Prediabetic again according to my GP. The last time I managed to not be prediabetic I just stayed off the Malteser boxes and it made a difference. I've been referred to the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme through my GP. I only went to the GP due to my consistently fat ankles and feet. My mum...
