    Found Insulin in a cupboard

Agh I just found some insulin in my cupboard. I hadn’t realised it was in my sharps bin and had forgotten I had ordered as it was a large order. It’s been in there about 3-4 weeks I would think. Certainly no longer and maybe a bit shorter. Will it still be OK. I know once you start using it it’s...

How do you use your Libre 2?

Strange. Hmm it’s got me thinking if I’m imagining it but I know in the past I used to close the app all the time and the lost signal went off every 30 mins roughly!

How do you use your Libre 2?

Do you use the alarms? If I accidentally close mine the alarm goes off on my phone to say signal lost - which is how I worked out to leave it open.

How do you use your Libre 2?

Leave the app open and running in the back ground so that it is always connected to the sensor. Closing it means that the connection is broken which is why the signal lost alarm goes. Also with the notifications clear or dismiss - don’t just ignore. If you do they will keep going off. Also...

    Fibromyalgia

So I’ve found out today I may have fibromyalgia. Dr wants to do a couple of blood tests just to rule out a few other things but he’s pretty certain what it is. After being in constant pain from my neck down to my toes for about a year now I’m finally glad to have a diagnosis and hopefully on the...

Thank you all. Some useful and very helpful advice. I know what to do next time and I’m going to get some treat size haribo to keep in the car too just in case.

Driving while feeling a hypo coming on

That happened to me at work the other day. I was 3.6 so I shouted to my colleague to get me some small cans of full fat lemonade I keep in the fridge at work while I dug out the biscuits and started munching. 10 mins later I checked and 3.2. Checked again after another 3.4. It took me nearly an...

Driving while feeling a hypo coming on

I’m on Absaglar for long acting and Novorapid. I was put back on Metformin in a bid to try and control my weight as since being on insulin it has made me put weight on :(

Driving while feeling a hypo coming on

I don’t know. Maybe I injected more insulin then I needed to at lunch because my levels were up and didn’t take into account the side affect. They are all over the place at the mo. One minute high and next min dropping like anything!

Driving while feeling a hypo coming on

Last night I was driving home from work and was about five minutes away when I felt the symptoms of a hypo. There was no where to stop safe and legally as double yellows or residents parking or too narrow streets or all three. So knowing I was so close to home I made the decision to carry on...

    Made to feel so small

Thank you all. It’s not the first time she’s done it as at Christmas said can you go to your room to do that as we had a guest. I was sat in the hall and guest in the lounge. I’d finished anyway so said no need. I know I shouldn’t let it get to me but sometimes it does and I can’t understand...

    Made to feel so small

I’ve tried so many times to explain to her but she either doesn’t get it or forgets or both. I always do the injection discretely too as she knows as sometimes she’s like have you done it and not even noticed.

    Made to feel so small

I’ve been diagnosed since 2010 as T2 but changed to T1 in 2017 after a DKA episode and time in hospital. I thought she’d be used to it by now but no such luck :(

    Made to feel so small

Low fat diet due to impending surgery.

I’m having my gallbladder removed at the end of this month and been told for two weeks before I’ve got to follow a low fat diet. I’m worried about the impact this may have and also no idea on what to eat. Suggestions I’ve seen seem bare minimal to eat so worried that will impact my levels a lot...
