    Intermittent fasting

I can’t remember which of the books I read from here https://diabetes.gifts/top-5-books-every-type-1-diabetic-should-read/ (I read them all when I got diagnosed) but one of them warned about being careful with ketones when fasting. I think with a CGM it’s not a big risk though

    Libre alarms not working.

I hate my Libre 2 and it causes me nothing but stress. I requested a Dexcom one after reading about the comparison here: https://diabetes.gifts/dexcom-one-vs-libre-2/. I have been approved for it but do not have it yet, will update this board when I have. Here’s to hoping it’s more accurate and...

    Few conundrums!

I’m a type 1 diabetic so take my view with a grain (lol) of salt. My main goal is to focus on low GI foods as these digest slower and don’t result in a big spike in blood sugar. I often use type 2 recipe books (such as the ones from here: https://diabetes.gifts/best-diabetic-diet/) to make...

    take aways

I was aware. I can eat all of the above with minimal insulin as a type 1 though so I think my advice stands.

    take aways

At Indian I order the mixed meat starter and have it with salad. I get donner meat and salad often for takeaway. From chip shop I get a jumbo sausage and a double Burger without the bun. Good luck!

    Prediabetes pre dieabates

Grab a recipe book: https://diabetes.gifts/top-5-diabetic-recipe-books/ they all focus on being low carb and good food that have “slow-release” carbs. Some of them (such as the gusty biker one) even focus on reversing type 2. Good luck!

    Neuropathy symptoms?

I would definitely speak to your GP. It might be nothing but it’s definitely worth getting checked. I would really reccomend the books here: https://diabetes.gifts/top-5-books-every-type-2-diabetic-should-read-to-manage-their-condition-better/ especially the “reversing one”. I found...

    Advice

Definitely stick with the G7! The dexcom one was basically made as a budget model for the NHS who wouldn’t fund the G7 for everyone. The Dexcom G7 is far superior and fully featured. For example, you can’t use the dexcom one with a pump

How much weight have YOU lost?

I’m yo-yoing quite a bit and am only around 3kg down from last year. At my best I was 10kg down. New year, I’ll give it another go

I’m going to eat a medium stuffed crust pizza from Pizza Hut for dinner

Game plan; inject 6 units, wait 45 minutes and demolish the pizza. 1 hour after eating inject 6 more units and go for a brisk walk. 4 hours after eating I’ll have another 3 units (if needed, but based on last time I will) Wish me luck fellow gluc-bros.

    Advice

I’d really recommend reading this book: https://diabetes.gifts/think-like-a-pancreas-review-and-summary/?amp=1. It has really helped me generally understood what’s going on in my body.

    Type 2 Erectile Dysfunction

It depends what has caused it, but generally a combination of losing weight, eating better, exercising more and seeking counselling will help. Definitely speak to your GP and you can also get Viagra over the counter these days. Good luck with it; I know it can be stressful

    am I prediabetic

The label isn’t so important; if you know you eat too much bad food and your BMI is a little high, being stricter with your diet and doing more exercise would be a great idea and hopefully prevent any issues :)

    Freestyle libre 2 problems

I have had so many problems with my libre 2. So many in fact the NHS has finally agreed to move me to Dexcom one as it was causing me a lot of stress. Hopefully I’ll get one in the new year

    Type 1 Am I actually Type 1?

Take a read into type 1.5 diabetes and LADA. Might be you fit in that bracket. Fwiw if you are healthy and have a routine that works for you, don’t worry too much about the label :)

Diabetes and me at 35 years old....

I hope you don’t mind me saying so, but it sounds like you could still learn a lot about your condition and it would improve your quality of life. I read the book “think like a pancreas” listed here: https://diabetes.gifts/best-gifts-under-30-for-a-diabetic/?amp=1 and it really changed my life...
