    CGM Vs hba1c

Libre is a good way to get a clearer understand of where you are daily. Just be warned that when they start to show large increases in glucose it will not be as accurate. My libre is reading 11.6 at moment but a finger prick is showing 15.3. Other than on rapid increases is normally showing the...

    Shouldn’t be testing my BG!

The old say prevention is cheaper than the cure. If I had been given the means to test I would not have ended up on medication. I would have descovered what increases my glusose. Would not not need to see the nurse as often, then add appointments with dietitians, consultants ect. NHS is spending...

    Shouldn’t be testing my BG!

I keep getting told the same BS every single time I speak to them. But if I wasn't testing at home they wouldn't have agreed to redoing my HbA1c and seeing it had risen from 41 to 96 in the space of 6mth. My dietitian is an absolute joke also. I explain time and time again that there is certain...

Zoe - the health study and other CGM's

I self fund (only doing it for 90 days) libre 2 which is great in some respects. Gives a better understanding on what's happening during the day. It's always runs lower readings than finger prick but still accurate enough once you figure out out the slight difference.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Haha I'm surprised mine was as low as it was. Last night was fully loaded fried with lots of sauces and buffolo chicken. Followed by apple pie and custard. Was worth it though long time since I've said sod and ate exactly what I was craving [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]

Signed up for a gym, but with type 1 diabetes can I take protein powder?

Protien powers that are a juice rather than a shake tends to have less carbs and sugar. Both my T1 friends swear by the stuff and find it easier to add extra electrolytes too should they be needed post workout. That been said the one who is heavily in to weights still finds in incredibly...
