    GO MAD DAY your thoughts

    Blood pressure drops

I have had several episodes where I have a sudden and dramatic drop in blood pressure and have to be taken to A&E. My heart is all right. The doctors do not seem to know why and thought it could be a result of Diabetes. My HBA1C is not too bad. Anyone else experienced this?

    Blood testing

Thanks for replies but it doesn't answer my question. Is there anywhere else? I'm sure I read an article once that said there could be alternative sites. I've been a Diabetic for many years and the poor old fingers have taken a bashing. Does anyone rub cream or something else to help?

The surgery has sent me a new meter and said I have to use it as it is cheaper. When I compare the readings with my Contour it can be as much as 2 difference. I know meters are not too accurate but 2 could make the difference between having or...

    New meter

For some time I have been happily using a Contour Next meter for my testing. Then my surgery said they were going over to GlucoRx meters as the strips were much cheaper and a meter arrived. I took a reading with the new meter and it was 8.8. I then took a reading with my Contour meter and it...

    HBA1C

I am pretty elderly and my Diabetic nurse told me any readings up to 8 are fine at my age. Does age make a difference?
